For the safety of our students, teachers, and school personnel, face-to-face classes in all public and private schools, including daycare, elementary, and high school, in Lapu-Lapu City are suspended tomorrow, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, due to the very unhealthy air quality being monitored in Metro Cebu.

As of 4:00 PM today, the Environmental Management Bureau Region VII (EMB-7) recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 167 at the Metro Cebu Station, classified as VERY UNHEALTHY. It has been several days since we have been experiencing this haze, and we continue to closely monitor the situation. All public schools shall automatically shift to Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM), while private schools are encouraged to adopt ADM or arrange make-up classes as needed.

I am asking everyone to take extra precautions, especially our children, senior citizens, and those who may be more sensitive to poor air quality. Please limit outdoor activities, wear a face mask when going outside, and stay indoors whenever possible. Let us continue to follow official advisories and take care of one another as we wait for the air quality to improve.

On September 8, 2026, at Tungasan High School, NETMHS FC defeated SRNHS FC, 4–2 in a competitive women’s futsal match that showcased the determination, skill, and teamwork of both teams. From the opening whistle, NETMHS FC and SRNHS FC battled intensely for possession, creating exciting opportunities on both ends of the court. NETMHS FC gained an early advantage when Megan Amorin scored the first goal, but SRNHS FC remained composed and continued to challenge their opponents. NETMHS FC extended their lead when Khesia Tapan scored the second goal, yet SRNHS FC refused to back down and continued to fight for every opportunity. The third goal came from an unexpected play when the SRNHS goalkeeper touched the ball, causing it to slide toward the goalpost and cross the line. Despite the setback, SRNHS FC showed resilience and continued to put pressure on NETMHS FC.

Their persistence paid off as they scored two goals, keeping the match competitive and making NETMHS FC work hard to protect their lead. NETMHS FC responded with a fourth goal and worked together to maintain their advantage until the final whistle. Both teams displayed sportsmanship, determination, and competitive spirit throughout the match. In the end, NETMHS FC secured the 4–2 victory, but SRNHS FC also deserves recognition for their strong effort, fighting spirit, and refusal to give up until the final whistle.
