Commander NFC Hands Over Rubber Boats to Strengthen Disaster Response
In a significant step towards improving disaster response readiness, COMMO FLORANTE N GAGUA PN, Commander, Naval Forces Central (NFC) turned over two rubber boats to CAPT HERNANE DC LANES PN(GSC), Commander, Naval Installation and Facilities-Central (NIF-C) in a ceremony held at NFC Headquarters. This initiative highlights the Navy's commitment to enhancing rescue operations in the Visayas region.
The rubber boats will be deployed to Naval Station Alfonso Palencia (NSAP) and Naval Station Dioscoro Papa (NSDP), where they will be utilized for disaster and rescue operations during emergencies. These assets will boost the Navy's ability to respond swiftly to calamities and assist affected communities.
The turnover ceremony featured Disaster Response and Rescue Teams (DRRT) 1 and 2 of NIF-C, who responds to natural disasters, emergencies, and other crises.
Commander, NFC reiterated the Navy's focus on preparedness and resource distribution to key naval stations, emphasizing the importance of being ready to respond to any crisis. Commander, NIF-C expressed gratitude, acknowledging that the boats will be a valuable assets in their operations.
This turnover showcases the Navyβs continued efforts to lead in humanitarian assistance and disaster response, ensuring the safety and protection of both the seas and the communities it serves.
