📢 JOINT MEETING SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED

Under the leadership of Mayor Charlene L. Ongchuan, the Joint Meeting of the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC), Municipal Council on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (MCAT-VAWC), and the Gender and Development Focal Point System Executive Committee (GADFPS-ExeCom), with the presence of key municipal officials, department heads, and partner stakeholders was successfully held on March 31, 2026 at the Board Room, 2nd Floor of Annex Building.

Key highlights of the meeting include:

✅ Finalization of the Local Plan of Action to End Violence Against Children
✅ Approval of the reconstitution of MAC members
✅ Updates and action points on the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA)
✅ Strengthened collaboration among stakeholders

This initiative reflects the strong commitment of the Local Government Unit, led by Mayor Charlene L. Ongchuan, in protecting children, promoting gender equality, and building a safer and more responsive community.

This coming March 8, 2026 (Sunday), the Local Government Unit of Laoang, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office in partnership with the Gender and Development Office, invites all women to join the kick-off activity for the celebration of National Women’s Month.

Join us in front of the Laoang Center for Sports, Culture, and the Arts (Covered Court) for a motorcade and a short program, followed by a fun and energizing Zumba Dance Session.

Everyone is encouraged to wear anything purple to show solidarity and support for women’s empowerment and gender equality.

Let us come together to celebrate the strength, achievements, and contributions of women in our community.
