Ablan, is the unified voice and action arm of all 80 barangays in the city. Anchored on Serbisyo Publiko, the Liga is committed to delivering responsive, inclusive, and people-centered governance from the ground up. Kap. Roque Ablan leads with integrity, vision, and

deep community roots—fostering a culture of unity, transparency, and service excellence. His leadership empowers barangay officials to go beyond traditional roles by initiating impactful programs that uplift every sector of society. The Liga actively implements and supports projects such as:

🌴💚 𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 (𝗔𝗴𝗖𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗽𝗼 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗕𝗶𝗮𝗴) 💚🌴

In line with the commitment to environmental protection and sustainable community development, a Coconut Tree Growing Activity was successfully conducted on June 3, 2026, at Barangay 60-A Caaoacan under the leadership of Punong Barangay Adelboy Quinto.

The activity was facilitated by the Laoag City Police Station headed by PLTCOL Ryan M. Retorar, with the active participation of PNP personnel, Barangay Officials and Appointees of Barangay 60-A Caaoacan, and the students and teachers of Caaoacan National High School.

This meaningful initiative highlights the importance of environmental stewardship and collective action in preserving our natural resources for future generations. Beyond planting trees, the activity serves as a reminder that every seedling planted today contributes to a greener, healthier, and more resilient community tomorrow.

🚓🤝 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗘, 𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 🤝🚓

The Laoag City Police Station in coordination with the Liga ng Barangay Laoag conducted its West Cluster Meeting at the Madiladig Barangay Hall, bringing together Punong Barangays, Barangay Kagawads on Peace and Order, and Chief Tanods from Barangays 55-A Barit headed by PB Benjamin Pudiquet, 55-C Vira headed by PB Wilbert Salvador, 60-B Madiladig headed by PB Jayfer Gabriel, and 59-B Dibua North headed by PB Henry Ancheta.

The coordination meeting of the cluster focused on the implementation of the Seal Off Plan, an important initiative aimed at strengthening coordination among barangays and neighboring police stations to effectively contain, monitor, and prevent perpetrators from entering or escaping Areas of Responsibility (AOR).

The Liga ng mga Barangay – Laoag City, under the leadership of President Hon. Roque “Rbee” C. Ablan, fully supports programs and initiatives that enhance public safety, community vigilance, and inter-barangay cooperation. Through strong partnerships between law enforcement agencies and barangay officials, we continue to build safer, more secure, and more resilient communities for every Laoagueño.

Last May 27, 2026, Barangay 14 Sto. Tomas successfully installed and officially launched its Solar Charging System through the leadership of Punong Barangay Augosto D. Sales, Jr., together with the dedicated Barangay Officials.

This initiative is a significant step toward promoting clean and renewable energy while enhancing the barangay’s preparedness, resilience, and sustainability. The Solar Charging System will provide a reliable source of power that can benefit residents, especially during emergencies and unforeseen situations.

This project reflects the barangay’s commitment to environmental responsibility and innovative community development for the benefit of every constituent.

Martin, for actively participating in the Water Rescue Demonstration, Victim Handling, and Basic Lifesaving Procedures Training conducted in collaboration with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) headed by Dr. Medel Manuel and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Laoag City Sub-Station under the leadership of LTJG Julius C. Bullingan, PCG. 🙌💙

The activity provided valuable hands-on training on water rescue operations, victim handling, emergency response, and rescue coordination — strengthening the preparedness and responsiveness of barangay officials in times of emergencies and disasters. 🌊🛟
