Inaatasan silang humarap sa Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) sa ika-20 ng Mayo 2026, alas-10 ng umaga upang magpaliwanag kung bakit hindi sila dapat managot sa kasong โ€œReckless Drivingโ€ at โ€œImproper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.โ€ May karagdagang kasong โ€œCompulsory Registration of Motor Vehiclesโ€ laban sa Yamaha Mio.

LTO Region I sustains its continuous ayuda distribution, now on its 4th week and counting, for for-hire vehicle drivers, providing timely assistance during vehicle registration. By bringing support closer to them, LTO ensures that help is not only available, but truly felt where it matters most. Even through simple assistance such as a pack of grocery goods and rice, the agency hopes to ease the daily burden of drivers, even in small but meaningful ways.

The district offices across the region remain at the forefront of this effort. Through their coordinated actions and hands-on approach, they make sure that assistance reaches every qualified driver smoothly and efficiently. Their dedication on the ground reflects a strong, united commitment to serve with urgency, care, and consistency.

At its core, this program reflects the compassion of Land Transportation Office Region I for the transport sector. It recognizes the sacrifices of drivers and acknowledges their role in keeping communities moving. By continuously extending support, the agency strengthens not only its services, but also its connection with the people it serves.

This ongoing effort is carried out in support of the directive of Ferdinand โ€œBongbongโ€ R. Marcos Jr., under the guidance of DOTr Acting Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez and LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao. Led by Regional Director Glorioso Daniel Z. Martinez and Assistant Regional Director Eric C. Suriben, LTO Region I continues to move forward with purpose, delivering programs that create real impact and meaningful change for every driver on the road.

May 05, 2026 - The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 1 conducted a coordination meeting with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 1 to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and enhance the delivery of public transportation services in the region.

This initiative is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand โ€œBongbongโ€ R. Marcos Jr. to promote efficient, accessible, and people-centered government services across all sectors.

The activity was carried out under the guidance of Department of Transportation Office (DOTr) Acting Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez and Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, reinforcing the commitment of both agencies to institutional cooperation and service improvement.

Under the supervision of Regional Director Glorioso Daniel Z. Martinez and Assistant Regional Director Engr. Eric C. Suriben, the LTO Dagupan conducted a short but productive coordination meeting with LTFRB Region 1 Regional Director Cristal R. Sibayan and Atty. Mark Espenilla. The meeting aimed to further strengthen collaboration between the Land Transportation Office and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.

Among the key matters discussed were the alignment and harmonization of policies, systems, and procedures of both agencies, particularly in relation to the registration and franchising of for-hire motor vehicles. Both agencies emphasized the importance of eliminating redundancies, improving data-sharing mechanisms, and ensuring that processes are more seamless and client-friendly for operators and drivers.

The coordination meeting also served as a venue to identify existing operational challenges encountered by clients, especially those coming from far-flung municipalities, and to explore practical solutions that will reduce processing time and administrative burden.

This initiative marks a significant step toward the proposed establishment of an LTFRB field office in close proximity to the LTO Dagupan District Office. Once realized, this will provide a more convenient one-stop service hub for stakeholders, allowing applicants to process both LTO and LTFRB requirements in a single location.

Both agencies expressed their commitment to sustain regular coordination meetings and joint initiatives moving forward, as part of a unified approach to delivering responsive, efficient, and transparent public service to the riding public.

LTO Region 1 continues to take concrete steps toward bringing government services closer to the people, strengthening its presence in La Union through proactive coordination with local government partners.

Today, May 4, 2026, a productive committee meeting was held with the Municipality of San Juan, La Union, led by the Sangguniang Bayan through its Committees on Transportation, Communication, Public Utilities and Facilities, and Land Use, Housing, and Foreshore Leasehold. The discussion focused on identifying and advancing a proposed site for the future LTO San Fernando District Office, a key initiative aimed at expanding access to frontline services and easing the burden on existing facilities.

The engagement highlighted the importance of strong collaboration between national agencies and local government units in delivering timely and efficient services. With increasing demand for licensing, registration, and other transactions, the planned district office is expected to significantly improve convenience for residents, reduce travel time, and decongest current LTO offices in the region.

This move propels LTO Region 1โ€™s push for responsive governance, ensuring that essential services are not only accessible but also delivered with speed, transparency, and efficiency.

Guided by the vision of President Ferdinand โ€œBongbongโ€ R. Marcos Jr., and under the supervision of DOTr Acting Secretary Atty. Giovanni Z. Lopez and LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, the Land Transportation Office Region 1, led by Regional Director Glorioso Daniel Z. Martinez and Assistant Regional Director Engr. Eric C. Suriben, remains steadfast in driving initiatives that directly benefit the commuting public and elevate the standard of public service across the region.

BIG DAY THIS LABOR DAY! On May 1, 2026, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region I transformed the spirit of Labor Day into a powerful display of unity, discipline, and service as offices across the region conducted their simultaneous Big Clean-Up Day. More than just a routine activity, it became a movement driven by teamwork, pride, and a shared commitment to excellence.

At the San Fernando La Union Licensing Center, personnel rolled up their sleeves and worked side by side to thoroughly clean office premises, organize workspaces, and streamline records. The result was a more efficient, welcoming, and client-friendly environment that reflects the professionalism of the agency.

Meanwhile, the LTO Alaminos District Office carried out a comprehensive clean-up initiative that went beyond tidying up. Old signages were restored to ensure clear direction for clients, the reserved parking space for persons with special needs was repainted to promote accessibility, and the records room was reorganized to strengthen document management and retrieval. Every effort was geared toward improving service delivery and enhancing the client experience.

The San Fernando District Office also marked Labor Day with energy and purpose, as employees united in cleaning and organizing their workplace. The activity showcased not only their dedication to maintaining order but also their strong sense of teamwork and pride in public service.

In full support of the directive of President Ferdinand โ€œBongbongโ€ Marcos Jr., this region-wide initiative reflects a leadership-driven push for discipline, efficiency, and citizen-centered service. Guided by the direction of DOTr Acting Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez and LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, and championed in Region I by Regional Director Glorioso Daniel Z. Martinez and Assistant Regional Director Eric C. Suriben, the agency continues to raise the bar in delivering responsive, organized, and people-first public service.

This Labor Day initiative proves that meaningful change starts from within, one clean space, one organized office, and one united team at a time.
