Happy 65th Birthday, Papa Roven!

Today, we celebrate not just your birthday, but the incredible life you have lived and the countless ways you have loved, guided, protected, and strengthened our family through the years. Turning 65 is such a beautiful milestone, and I thank God every day for the blessing of having you as my father. 🙏

Thank you for being my protector, my safe place, my greatest supporter, and one of the strongest foundations of my life. So much of who I am today is because of your sacrifices, your wisdom, and the unconditional love you have always given me.

As your daughter, one thing I have always known in my heart is that no other man will ever love me the way you do as my father. Your love has always been pure, selfless, patient, and unwavering. You taught me what it means to feel protected, valued, and deeply cared for. And because of you, I learned the kind of love and respect I deserve in this life. 💙

And thank you for being such an amazing grandfather to Zuri. 💕 Seeing the love you pour into her, the joy you bring into her life, and the beautiful bond you share is one of the greatest gifts for me as your daughter. She is so blessed to have you.

No matter how old I get, I will always be your little girl—grateful for every hug, every lesson, every prayer, and every silent sacrifice you made for our family.

As you celebrate this special day, my prayer is for God to bless you with more years of good health, peace, happiness, and beautiful moments with the people who love you dearly.

I love you endlessly, Papa!! Happy 65th Birthday! 🎂✨

Honored to witness the inauguration of Amianan: Ilocos Norte Museum and Library of History and Culture at the beautiful Sitio Remedios Heritage Village in celebration of its 20th anniversary—a meaningful milestone dedicated to preserving the stories, artistry, and identity of Ilocandia. 🏛️✨

A heartfelt thank you to the curators, cultural workers, and especially Dr. Joven Cuanang for creating a space where history is not only displayed, but truly experienced and remembered.

As a tour guide and heritage advocate, one of the most emotional moments for me was seeing my great grandfather, Roque B. Ablan Sr., included among the Gallery of Heroes of Ilocos Norte. It was a powerful reminder that history lives on through stories passed from one generation to another. 💛

The experience became even more enriching after learning from historian Ambeth R. Ocampo, whose lecture reminded us that history should never remain flat or one-dimensional. His discussions about Juan Luna, Artemio Ricarte, and Gregorio Aglipay gave deeper context to the complexities of heroism, nationalism, identity, and sacrifice in Philippine history.

Through his storytelling, we are reminded that heroes were real people—with flaws, convictions, passions, and struggles—and that understanding history requires curiosity beyond memorized dates and names. For us in tourism and heritage interpretation, this is invaluable because it teaches us to tell stories with more depth, humanity, and meaning. 📖✨

I also deeply admire Dr. Cuanang’s lifelong passion for antiques, cultural artifacts, and heritage preservation. His appreciation for old objects goes beyond collecting—he understands that every ancestral piece, religious image, furniture, textile, and photograph carries memory and meaning. Through Sitio Remedios and now Amianan Museum, he continues to prove that preserving heritage is preserving identity itself. 🌾

The gathering was also a beautiful convergence of artists, historians, collectors, and cultural heritage enthusiasts, including the opportunity to meet National Artist BenCab and individuals who continue to champion Philippine arts and culture.

Amianan Museum is more than a museum—it is a bridge connecting Ilocanos to their roots and inviting future generations to appreciate the richness of our stories, struggles, and culture.

Congratulations once again on this inspiring milestone. May it continue to educate, preserve, and inspire for many years to come. ✨

An evening where history felt alive beneath the moonlit charm of Sitio Remedios. 🌙📖✨

Grateful to have attended “The Moon, The Viper, & The Bishop: Heroes of Ilocandia” led by renowned historian Ambeth R. Ocampo, whose gift for storytelling once again proved that history is never just about dates—it is about people, struggles, identity, and the stories that continue to shape who we are today.

As a tourism professional and tour guide, evenings like this are deeply enriching. Learning more about Ilocano icons such as Juan Luna, Artemio Ricarte, and Gregorio Aglipay gave greater meaning to the places, heritage sites, and narratives we proudly share with visitors across the North. 🇵🇭✨

From Luna’s brilliance beyond the canvas, to Ricarte’s unwavering patriotism, and Aglipay’s role in faith and nationalism, the lecture beautifully connected art, revolution, culture, and identity into one powerful narrative of Ilocandia.

What I appreciate most about Ambeth Ocampo’s talks is how he transforms historical figures into real human beings—full of dreams, contradictions, courage, and sacrifice. It reminds us that heritage interpretation is not simply memorizing facts, but telling stories in ways that truly connect with people. 💛

As someone in tourism, experiences like this deepen my responsibility to share Ilocano history more meaningfully, accurately, and passionately with every traveler I guide.

History, after all, is best remembered when it is felt. 🌾✨

As a tourism professional and tour guide, it’s always inspiring to witness destinations that go beyond sightseeing and truly create meaningful experiences rooted in sustainability, education, and community. 🌾✨

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Lapog ni Guia, an emerging agritourism destination that beautifully showcases the potential of farm tourism in Ilocos Region. More than just a farm, it offers a complete experience—from farm-to-table dining, agri-learning activities, aquaculture, and fresh produce harvesting, to a peaceful bed-and-breakfast stay surrounded by nature. 🌱🏡

What makes this even more meaningful was gathering together with fellow farm site owners and advocates to engage in discussions on how we can collaboratively strengthen and promote farm tourism in the region. It was inspiring to see local farms supporting one another through proudly homegrown products and sustainable practices.

From the nutritious black rice of Oñera Integrated Farm in Batac, refreshing lemongrass juice and produce from Connor’s Farm in Badoc, balsamic vinegar from Inuwayan, roasted cashews, fresh Thai basil and lettuces, to Lapog ni Guia’s own aquaculture and farm harvests—everything reflected the beauty of true farm-to-table dining rooted in local identity. 🥗🌾🦐

Farm tourism is not just about food or scenery—it’s about connecting people to the land, empowering local farmers, supporting sustainability, and preserving our agricultural heritage for future generations.

I truly believe Lapog ni Guia has strong potential to become a DOT-accredited tourism destination and an ATI-recognized learning site in the future. Its vision, experience, and advocacy align perfectly with what sustainable and educational tourism should be. 💚

Excited to see more travelers discover this hidden gem and experience the growing future of agritourism in Ilocos. Agbiag! 🌱✨

Thank you Ma'am Thea and Ma'am Maribel today :) And to our new found Farmer friends, let's get to work!!!
