𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) successfully conducted its first unit meeting with the academic support units, namely the Department of Student Services and Development (DSSD), Department of Sports Development, Department of Registrar and Admission Services, Department of the National Service Training Program (NSTP), Department of Culture and the Arts, and Department of Library Services.

The meeting served as a venue to reiterate and cascade vital academic matters, address current concerns and challenges, and strategically plan the ways forward to ensure the continuous delivery of quality programs and services. Through collaboration and shared commitment, the academic support units remain steadfast in advancing excellence and strengthening student-centered services.

NOTICE TO ALL IM DEVELOPERS/AUTHORS

To facilitate efficient processing, all IM Developers/Authors are advised to check the Official IM Validation Registry for updates on the status of their submitted Instructional Materials.

If your IM is listed in the registry, it has already been approved and you may proceed with printing your certification.

If your IM is not yet reflected in the registry, it is still undergoing evaluation and review. Please be guided that the evaluation process follows the timeline prescribed under Executive Order No. 4, s. 2020, Figure 1, which provides up to fifteen (15) working days for evaluation and processing.

We kindly request everyone to allow the prescribed review period before making follow-up inquiries regarding recently submitted IMs.

The IFSU IM Certification and Validation System is now operational.

Faculty authors with approved instructional materials may now access, download, and print their digital IM Certifications through the OVPAA Website. Each certification is issued with a unique IM Certification Serial Number and QR Code for authentication, validation, and record tracking purposes.

Validation of certifications may be done by:
• Scanning the QR Code printed on the certificate using a mobile device; or
• Accessing the IFSU Website → Academic → OVPAA → IM Validation and entering the IM Certification Serial Number.

📌 Reiteration of the IM Approval Sheet and Signatory Framework

For consistency and common guidance in the implementation of the IM review and approval process, the sample approval sheet and signatory framework are hereby reposted for reference.

Please be reminded that the inhibition of a signatory due to authorship applies only to the corresponding review, endorsement, or approval function. It does not exempt the instructional material from the prescribed peer review, committee review, evaluation, recommendation, and approval processes. Regardless of the position of the author, all instructional materials remain subject to the same review and quality assurance requirements of the University.
