PNP SWIFTLY SOLVES DAVAO DE ORO SHOOTING; THREE SUSPECTS ARRESTED

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has successfully arrested three suspects in connection with the shooting incident that occurred in Pantukan, Davao de Oro, less than a day after the attack, demonstrating the organization's sustained commitment to fast, intelligence-driven police operations.

The arrests were carried out on June 26 following intensified hot pursuit and investigative efforts launched immediately after the incident. A 35-year-old male, believed to be the gunman, was positively identified by the victim through the police rogue's gallery, while witnesses also identified his two companions—a 34-year-old dismissed PNP member and a 25-year-old female—as occupants of the vehicle allegedly used during the commission of the crime.

Police also recovered a caliber .45 pistol, ammunition, magazines, and the suspected getaway vehicle. One more suspect remains at large, with continuous police operations underway to secure his arrest as investigators complete the evidence needed for the filing of appropriate criminal charges.

The swift progress of the case reflects the PNP's continuing efforts under its Focused Agenda, particularly on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, by strengthening investigative capability, intelligence gathering, and coordinated field operations.
It also supports the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure a safer environment for all Filipinos through effective law enforcement and the rule of law.

Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for their prompt and coordinated response while assuring the public that the remaining suspect will be relentlessly pursued.

"Hindi tayo titigil hangga't hindi natin napapanagot ang lahat ng sangkot sa krimeng ito. Ang mabilis na aksyon ng ating mga pulis ay patunay na kapag nagtutulungan ang ating mga operating units at investigators, mas mabilis nating naihahatid ang hustisya. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating operasyon upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at seguridad ng ating mga komunidad," said Police General Nartatez.

The PNP assures the public that the investigation remains ongoing and that all actions are being undertaken in accordance with the law and with full respect for due process. PNP-BIR PIN HOTEL OWNER, 2 CHINESE NATIONALS IN CAUAYAN CITY’S ₱82.7-M CIGARETTE SMUGGLING BUST

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., seized millions of pesos worth of suspected smuggled ci******es and arrested a hotel owner along with two Chinese nationals during a joint anti-smuggling operation at a hotel in Cauayan City, Isabela on June 25, 2026.

The operation was conducted by the Cauayan City Police Station, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and other government agencies by virtue of a BIR Mission Order after police received information regarding the alleged sale and distribution of suspected smuggled ci******es involving Chinese nationals.

Authorities searched two hotel rooms and confiscated 202 boxes of various cigarette brands with a total estimated value of ₱82,713,366.52. Also found at the premises were the hotel owner identified only as alias “Willy” and two Chinese nationals identified by their aliases “Michael” and “Lisa.” Following inventory and documentation, the confiscated ci******es were turned over to BIR Regional Office 2 for proper custody, disposition, and the filing of appropriate charges.

The accomplishment reflects the PNP’s PNP Focus Agenda, a strategic framework for organizational transformation designed to make police service more responsive, accountable, and community-centered. Guided by its key priority on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, the PNP continues to strengthen intelligence-driven enforcement against smuggling and other economic crimes that undermine legitimate businesses and fair trade.

PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized the importance of sustained enforcement against illicit trade, saying, “Smuggling strengthens criminal networks and creates an uneven playing field for legitimate businesses. We will continue working with our partner agencies to dismantle these illegal operations and ensure that those behind them are held accountable.”

He also underscored the value of public cooperation, saying, “Hindi kami titigil sa pagsugpo sa smuggling at iba pang ilegal na gawain. Mahalaga ang pakikipagtulungan ng publiko upang mapanagot ang mga lumalabag sa batas.”

2 REBELS YIELD TO PNP-PA IN CAMARINES SUR

Camarines Sur – The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., together with the Philippine Army, recorded another significant breakthrough in the government’s anti-insurgency campaign following the voluntary surrender of two Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members during a joint counterinsurgency operation in Barangay San Roque Poblacion, Bula, Camarines Sur on June 22, 2026.

The operation was conducted by personnel of the 9th Special Action Battalion, Special Action Force (SAF), Bula Municipal Police Station, other PNP units, and the Philippine Army, resulting in the surrender of alias “Leolanda,” a Periodic Status Report (PSR)-listed CTG member for the fourth quarter of Calendar Year 2020, and alias “Boy,” a non-PSR-listed CTG member. Both were affiliated with Kilusang Larangan Gerilya 2, Sub-Regional Committee 1, Bicol Regional Party Committee.

Upon surrendering, the former rebels turned over one caliber .38 revolver with four rounds of ammunition, one improvised explosive device (IED), and three improvised hand grenades. They are currently undergoing documentation and processing for possible enrollment in the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) to help them reintegrate into mainstream society.

“Every rebel who chooses to surrender is another step toward safer communities and lasting peace. The PNP remains committed to working with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and our local partners to encourage more members of insurgent groups to abandon violence and return to the rule of law,” said PGEN Nartatez.

“Patunay ang pagsukong ito na may pagkakataon ang bawat Pilipinong nais magbagong-buhay. Patuloy kaming makikipagtulungan sa ating mga komunidad upang mas marami pang mahikayat na piliin ang kapayapaan kaysa armadong pakikibaka,” he added.

The accomplishment supports the PNP’s Focused Agenda, a strategic framework for institutional transformation designed to make police service more responsive and trusted by the public. Guided by its key priorities, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations and Active Community Support, the PNP continues to strengthen collaboration with partner agencies and communities in sustaining peace and encouraging the successful reintegration of former rebels into society.
