The 18th Infantry (Deo et Patria) Battalion, Philippine Army, conducted a MEDICAL OUTREACH PROGRAM at Brgy. Baimbing, Lamitan City, Basilan.

The activity was carried out in partnership with the BLGU of Brgy. Baimbing, local health, Basilan Medical Center, social service offices, agricultural agencies, and the 53rd Special Action Company, with the support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lamitan City, highlighting strong inter-agency cooperation.

Residents received free medical consultations, medicines, and health education, addressing healthcare needs while strengthening collaboration among stakeholders as the 18IB continues to support nation-building.

18th Infantry Battalion Participates in Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill in Lamitan City and Akbar

LOOK – Troops of the 18th Infantry (Deo et Patria) Battalion, Philippine Army actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) conducted at Colony National High School in Lamitan City and Akbar National High School in Akbar all of Basilan Province.

The drill was conducted in close coordination with Lamitan City CDRRMO and Akbar MDRRMO, involving Patriot Troopers, school officials, students, and personnel from PNP, BFP, and PCG, to ensure a coordinated and realistic emergency response.

The activity featured simulation exercises such as an earthquake drill, fire drill, and casualty evacuation (CASEVAC), where participants practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique and organized evacuation procedures to enhance disaster preparedness and emergency response.

LAMITAN CITY, Basilan – Troops of the 18th Infantry (Deo et Patria) Battalion, Philippine Army, in coordination with and spearheaded by the (OPAPRU), conducted a Solidarity and Iftar (Breaking of the fast) with members of the (MNLF) at Camp Sabaha, Parangbasak, Lamitan City, Basilan, in observance of the holy month of Ramadan.

The activity aimed to strengthen unity, mutual respect, and cooperation between the military and MNLF communities, while providing a venue for meaningful dialogue and fellowship that highlights the shared commitment of all stakeholders to sustain peace, harmony, and development in Basilan.

LTC TUPAS VISITS TROOPS IN LAMITAN CITY

LAMITAN CITY, BASILAN — LTC FRANCIS S TUPAS, Commanding Officer of the 18th Infantry (Deo et Patria) Battalion, 11th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, visited the Patrol Bases and Detachments of Alpha, Bravo in Companies in Lamitan City.

The visit aimed to assess troop readiness, boost morale, and provide guidance on ongoing peace and security operations. LTC Tupas emphasized discipline, vigilance, and strong community engagement as key to sustaining peace and order in the area.

The activity highlights the 18th Infantry Battalion’s commitment to protecting communities and supporting local governance in Basilan.

BRAVO COMPANY, 18IB FACILITATES RIDO SETTLEMENT IN LAMITAN CITY

LAMITAN CITY, BASILAN — Troops of Bravo Company, 18th Infantry (Deo et Patria) Battalion, 11th Infantry Division, Philippine Army facilitated a Rido settlement between the Maddain Family and the Arasal Family at Brgy. Baas, Lamitan City.

The activity was attended by 2LT Jerome R. Antazo (INF) PA, Executive Officer of Bravo Company, and 2LT John Patrick L. Dulay (INF) PA, Platoon Leader. The Bravo, 18th Infantry Battalion facilitated the settlement in coordination with Hon. Sulaiman S. Hotong, Municipal Councilor of Al-Barka; Hon. Danu I. Alih, Barangay Chairman of Brgy. Baas, Lamitan City; Hon. Samer Elling, Barangay Chairman of Brgy. Bangcoang, and Hon. Kindong M. Antaas, Barangay Chairman of Brgy. Bohe Baca, Tipo-Tipo.

Also present during the activity were peace stakeholders Hadji Samad Atain (M**F-CCCH), Mr. Shahid Akbara (CAO-III, MPOS-Basilan), Mr. Mistiri D. Tarami (BLADRAI Chairman), and PSSG Abdussuhud D. Abubakar (JPST).

The activity aimed to promote peaceful conflict resolution and strengthen community harmony through the collaborative efforts of local leaders, peace stakeholders, and government security forces.

LOOK | 18th Infantry Battalion Supports Amicable Settlement in Lamitan City
LAMITAN CITY— Troops of the 18th Infantry Battalion, under the command of LTC Francis S Tupas, participated in an Amicable Settlement between Hji. Bon Lahaman and Mr. Alih Saddadi Siddik at Ra’ayat Hall, People’s Capitol, BGC, Brgy. Sta. Clara, Lamitan City.

The activity was facilitated by Hon. Mujiv S. Hataman, Governor of Basilan, and attended by key representatives from the security sector, religious leaders, and provincial officials to promote dialogue, resolve disputes, and strengthen community unity.

Also, present were the 1101st Infantry “Gagandilan” Brigade, under the command of BGEN Frederick M Sales; Rajan Abdurahman, Deputy Commander of the 114th Base Command of the M**F; and provincial religious sector representatives Ustadz Munir Muluk and Mr. Al-Rasheed M. Sakkalahul.

The event concluded with the signing of the Amicable Settlement Agreement and a symbolic handshake between the parties, signifying reconciliation and a shared commitment to sustain peace and stability in Basilan. Representatives from the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines reaffirmed their support for ongoing peacebuilding efforts.
