"On-site Monitoring & Evaluation of the Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC) Lamitan City Health Office

Today, the Ministry of Health Rabies Prevention Program headed by FARISHA ENAMPADAN Program Manager, Assisted by NORAINA BATUWA conducted a thorough monitoring of our Lamitan City Health Office Animal Bite Treatment Center to ensure that every Lamitanean bitten by dogs, cats, or other animals receives prompt, safe, and quality anti-rabies treatment.

✅ Availability of anti-rabies vaccines & immunoglobulin
✅ Completeness and accuracy of patient records
✅ Proper waste management & cold chain system
✅ Staff compliance to DOH protocols
✅ Patient flow and customer satisfaction

Rabies is 100% fatal but 100% preventable.
If bitten or scratched by an animal:
1. Hugasan agad ng sabon at umaagos na tubig for 15 minutes
2. Pumunta agad sa pinakamalapit na ABTC - dito sa Lamitan City Health Office

​Monitoring and evaluation for the Lamitan National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) was a huge success. Thanks to the rigorous field assessments, valuable insights, and shared commitment, we are better equipped to improve patient outcomes and move closer to a TB-free community.

​A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Monitoring Team headed by Sara Dumo Zacarias Regional NTP COORDINATOR for your expertise, guidance, and tireless efforts on the ground. Your hard work ensures our programs stay effective, responsive, and impactful! 💙🙌

Meeting with Barangay Captains on Dengue Prevention and Community Action

A meeting was conducted with the Barangay Captains of Lamitan City to provide an update on the current dengue situation in the city and to strengthen the commitment of barangay leaders in dengue prevention and control.

During the meeting, City Health Officer- Dr. Mika Puri presented the latest dengue surveillance data, including the number of suspected, probable, confirmed and death cases, as well as the barangays with the highest number of reported cases. The discussion emphasized the importance of timely reporting, early detection, and immediate community action to prevent further transmission.

The barangay captains were also oriented on key dengue prevention and control measures, including the 4S Strategy: Search and Destroy, Self-Protection, Seek Early Consultation, and Support Spraying when indicated. The importance of the 4Ts—Taob, Taktak, Tuyo, at Takip and the 4 O’Clock Habit was also emphasized to eliminate mosquito breeding sites in homes and communities.

The meeting encouraged barangay leaders to strengthen community participation through regular clean-up drives, elimination of stagnant water and mosquito breeding sites, vector surveillance, health education, and mobilization of Barangay Health Workers, purok leaders, volunteers, and other community members.

The activity concluded with a commitment from the barangay captains to work closely with the Lamitan City Health Office in implementing dengue prevention and control activities and promoting a clean, safe, and dengue-free community.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the ABC President for allowing the City Health Office to discuss the current dengue situation and dengue prevention and control measures as part of the session. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to City Health Officer Dr. Mikaela T. Puri for her continued support and guidance in strengthening the dengue prevention and control program of Lamitan City.
