UPDATE ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DOG IMPOUNDING PROGRAM
The Local Government Unit of Laguindingan continues to comply with the requirements for the establishment and operation of the Municipal Dog Impounding Facility.
The construction of the facility is still for completion. Once completed, it will undergo assessment by the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Animal Industry (DA-BAI) to ensure compliance with government standards and animal welfare regulations.
In preparation for its implementation:
✅ Personnel have undergone the necessary training;
✅ Essential tools, biologics, protective uniforms and dog food have been procured;
✅ Dog cages have already been fabricated;
✅ The dog impounding vehicle is ready for operation; and
✅ Additional personnel will be hired to feed and care for the impounded dogs and to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility.
✅ Personnel assigned to animal handling and facility operations must receive pre-exposure rabies vaccination for their protection.
