1404th Ifugao Community Defense Center

On 21 June 2024, two distinguished alumni of our ROTC program, 2LT KIMPEE P PUH-HAY PA and 2LT JOHN VIANNEY T PUDDUNAN PA paid a courtesy call to their former unit after successfully graduating from Officer Candidate School (OCS) as members of OCC "ARAMSIDLAK " CL 60-24. Their visit was a significant event, serving as an inspiration to current cadets and a testament to the effectiveness of our training program.

The visit began with a warm welcome at headquarters, 1404 CDC, 14RCDG, RCPA in So Bahawit Pob West, Lagawe, Ifugao. COL OSCAR B BALIGNASAY JR INF (GSC) PA, the Center Director, along with the personnel of the center and current cadet leadership, welcomed the alumni. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as the alumni, now commissioned officers, returned to the place where their military careers first begun.

Following the reception, 2nd Lieutenant PUH-HAY and 2nd Lieutenant PUDDUNAN met with the Reservists and current ROTC cadets in the multipurpose hall. The alumni shared their experiences from OCS, highlighting the rigorous training, the challenges they faced, and the skills they developed. They emphasized the importance of the foundational training received during their ROTC years, crediting it as a crucial factor in their success at OCS.

Their stories resonated deeply with the cadets, many of whom aspire to follow in their footsteps. The alumni offered practical advice on how to prepare for OCS, stressing the importance of physical fitness, leadership qualities, and mental resilience. They also answered questions from the cadets, providing insights into the life of an officer and the responsibilities that come with it.

After the interactive session, the alumni joined the personnel, reservists and ROTC cadets in a simple boodle fight.

In their remarks, the alumni encouraged the cadets to remain dedicated and focused on their goals, reassuring them that the training and values instilled in them by the ROTC program would serve them well in their future military careers.

The courtesy call by the two alumni was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on both the cadets and the ROTC staff. It reinforced the value of the ROTC program in shaping future leaders and provided current cadets with tangible examples of success.

The alumni's achievements and their willingness to give back to their former unit were powerful motivators, inspiring the next generation of officers to strive for excellence.

Four (4) Former Rebels were awarded Livelihood Kits amounting to Twelve Thousand Pesos (Php12,000.00) each under the Pangkabuhayan para sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Tarlac in a simple Awarding Ceremony held at Headquarters of 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, Sitio Pugo, Barangay Burgos, San Jose, Tarlac on September 13, 2023.

In her speech, Ms. Florencia A. Balilo, the Officer In-charge of DTI Tarlac emphasized their desire in helping the FRs through their PPG program. "Our goal is to provide livelihood to our countrymen, especially our FRs so that thay can start their own business. The government wants you to be part of the development of our economy here in our province," Ms. Balilo said.

Ms Balilo also appreciated the collaboration of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion in reaching these FRs in order to deliver the programs and services of the government.

In his part, Lieutenant Colonel Jeszer M. Bautista, the Commanding Officer of 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion expressed his gratitude to the DTI for their efforts to deliver such programs from the government which can greatly help and improve the welfare of the FRs. “Sa patuloy na pagbibigay ninyo ng tulong at benepisyo sa ating mga FRs, malaking tulong ito upang mabago at maiangat ang kanilang pamumuhay. Sana sa pamamagitan nito ay makita ng mga natitira pang miyembro ng terorista na mayroong plano at programang inilaan ng pamahalaan para sa kanila”, Lt. Colonel Bautista said.

2ND RCPA- WIDE BLOODLETTING ACTIVITY & 1404RRIBn 3rd Qtr Mustering

To the Reservist Officers and Enlisted Reservist of 1404RRIBn and citizens of Ifugao Province, we would like to inform you that the 1404th Community Defense Center, 14th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army based in So. Bahawit, Poblacion West, Lagawe, Ifugao will participate in the 2nd RCPA- Wide Bloodletting Activity this coming Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 8:00 o'clock in the morning to be held at IFSU Nayon, Covered Court, Lamut, Ifugao in partnership with Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay Inc. The said activity will be participated by Reservist Officers and Enlisted Reservist of 1404RRIBn, PRC, Ifugao Chapter, LGU's, NGO's, IFSU ROTC unit and other stakeholders in the province. In this connection, we are encouraging everyone to participate in the said activity. Donors will have the right to request blood to 1404 CDC should there be any untoward incident or eventuality. Further, this quarterly activity will ensure the donors sufficient and readily available blood reserves in the Philippine Red Cross, Ifugao Chapter. Likewise, the activity, will be jived with the Reservist Personnel of 1404RRIBn 3rd Quarter Mustering in order to physically account, inspect, organize and update the individual Reservist Information Data Sheet, to enhance their operational readiness and to determine their responsiveness.

𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 || COL EDRALIN L POBLETE ART (GSC) PA, IFSU ROTC Commandant, discussed Pre-Marksmanship among the Basic Cadets of the Reserved Officer Training Corps of Ifugao State University – Lamut Campus and Lagawe Campus at IFSU Lamut.

The subject aimed to impart knowledge to the students to enhance their skills on the correct application of the Basic Fundamentals of Pistol and Rifle Marksmanship; acquire necessary skills required to become proficient marksmen; and develop confidence in applying skills in combat.
