In support of the Department of Education's Brigada Eskwela 2026 and as part of its commitment to community engagement and nation-building, personnel of La Trinidad Municipal Jail led by JINSP JULIUS B GARLEJO, Acting Jail Warden, actively participated in the Brigada Eskwela activities at La Trinidad Central School, La Trinidad, Benguet.

The personnel rendered voluntary service through campus clean-up activities, clearing of school grounds, and other works to help ensure a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for students and teachers in preparation for the opening of classes.

In line with Brigada Eskwela 2026 and BJMP's commitment to community engagement and welfare and development programs, La Trinidad Municipal Jail led by JINSP JULIUS B GARLEJO, Acting Jail Warden, implemented the program "Handog ng Piitan sa Paaralan" in support of Bahong Elementary School.

Through the collective efforts of jail personnel and selected Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), thirty (30) school armchairs were refurbished and repainted to help improve the learning environment for students. The armchairs were collected and brought to the jail facility, where the PDL diligently sanded, cleaned, and repainted them under the supervision of personnel. The refurbished armchairs were delivered back to the school, with final touch-ups conducted to ensure their quality and readiness for use.

This meaningful initiative demonstrates how rehabilitation can extend beyond the walls of confinement, allowing PDL to contribute positively to the community while developing responsibility, teamwork, and a sense of social accountability. Together, we build better schools, stronger communities, and brighter futures for our learners.

In observance of World No To***co Day 2026, personnel of La Trinidad Municipal Jail (LTMJ), led by JINSP JULIUS B GARLEJO, participated in the Plalking (Walking While Picking Up Litter) Activity together with various government agencies.

Initiated by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), the activity focused on collecting litter, particularly discarded cigarette butts, along public areas. Cigarette butts are among the most common forms of litter and contain harmful chemicals that can negatively impact the environment and public health.

Through this meaningful activity, LTMJ reaffirmed its commitment to promoting environmental responsibility, public health awareness, and community participation in creating a cleaner, greener, and tobacco-free society.

The La Trinidad Municipal Jail led by JINSP JULIUS B GARLEJO,Acting Jail Warden, participated in the ceremonial signing of the Deed of Donation and final turnover of livelihood equipment donated by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Local Government Unit of La Trinidad at Calajo Restaurant, Km.6, La Trinidad, Benguet on May 26, 2026.

The donated equipment, initially provided in 2024, will further strengthen the livelihood and rehabilitation programs of the facility, providing Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) with opportunities to enhance their skills, productivity, and self-reliance.

LTMJ expresses its sincere gratitude to DOST and the LGU of La Trinidad for their continued support and commitment in promoting sustainable rehabilitation and innovation-driven programs for the welfare and development of PDLs.
