BENGUET PROV'L LGU IMPLEMENTS WORK-FROM-HOME ARRANGEMENT ON AUG. 18

The Provincial Government of Benguet will implement a work-from-home arrangement for provincial officials and employees on August 18, 2026, as a precautionary measure amid continuous heavy rainfall associated with the Southwest Monsoon.

Provincial Governor Melchor D. Diclas issued Memorandum No. 2026-259 on August 17 directing the implementation of the alternative work arrangement in accordance with Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 128 dated August 17.

The presidential memorandum directed government offices in the National Capital Region, Benguet, and other identified provinces in Luzon to adopt appropriate alternative work arrangements following recommendations from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and rainfall warnings issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

Under the provincial memorandum, officials and employees do not need to report personally to their respective workplaces on August 18 and are expected to perform their duties from home whenever their functions allow.

Employees who cannot perform their tasks remotely are likewise advised to remain at home for their safety.

Personnel involved in the delivery of basic and health services, emergency preparedness and response, and other vital services, however, will continue operations and render necessary services.

The alternative work arrangement aims to protect provincial government workers, particularly those who may be vulnerable or at risk from the prevailing weather conditions and their potential effects.

The Provincial Government urged all concerned personnel to observe the directive and prioritize safety while ensuring the continuity of essential government services.

In line with the observance of the Holy Week, please be informed that work at the Provincial Local Government Unit of Benguet (PLGU) will be on a half-day schedule on April 1, 2026.

All essential services—including health, disaster response, and other critical operations—shall continue to operate on their regular schedules to ensure uninterrupted delivery of services to the public.

This measure is in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., through Memorandum Circular No. 114, which directs all government agencies and instrumentalities to strictly adopt energy conservation protocols.

Essential services such as health, disaster response, and other critical operations will continue their standard operating schedules to ensure uninterrupted public service.
