High-value targets arrested, billions of pesos worth of drugs seized
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) released its list of Top 10 anti-Illegal drug operations for 2021. The list is comprised of High-Impact Operations (HIOs) which resulted in the arrest of High-Value Targets (HVTs) and the seizure of illegal drugs worth billions of pesos.
These operations involved the participation of law enforcement, intelligence, and military counterparts in line with PDEAโs strategy of adopting an inter-agency approach to anti-drug operations.
1. Combined elements of the PDEA and Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted a buy-bust operation on January 15, 2021 in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Zambales which resulted in the arrest of four (4) PNP personnel and a cohort, the dismantling of a kitchen-type clandestine shabu laboratory, and the confiscation of 388.85 grams of shabu worth Php2.64 million, controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPECs) and various laboratory equipment.
2. Combined elements of the PDEA, PNP, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) conducted a buy-bust operation on June 13, 2021 in Imus City, Cavite which resulted in the arrest of a Chinese national and confiscation of 116.85 kilograms of shabu worth Php794.59 million concealed in packaging labeled as โChinese teaโ.
3. Joint elements of the PDEA, PNP, AFP and NICA implemented two (2) search warrants on June 21, 2021 in Malate, Manila that resulted in the confiscation of 37.53 kilograms of shabu worth Php255.21 million concealed in packaging labeled as โChinese teaโ.
4. Joint elements of the PDEA, PNP, AFP and NICA conducted a buy-bust operation on August 1, 2021 in Novaliches, Quezon City which resulted in the arrest of three (3) Chinese nationals and confiscation of 127 kilograms of shabu worth Php863.60 million concealed in packaging labeled as โChinese teaโ.
5. Joint elements of the PDEA, PNP, AFP and NICA conducted a buy-bust operation on August 1, 2021 in Balagtas, Bulacan which resulted in the neutralization of a Chinese national and confiscation of 74.8 kilograms of shabu worth Php509.23 million concealed in packaging labeled as โChinese teaโ.
6. Joint elements of the PDEA, PNP, AFP, NICA and Bureau of Customs (BOC) conducted a buy-bust operation on September 7, 2021 in Candelaria, Zambales which resulted in the neutralization of four (4) Chinese nationals and confiscation of 502.16 kilograms of shabu worth Php3.41 billion concealed in packaging labeled as โChinese teaโ.
7. Joint elements of the PDEA, PNP, AFP, NICA and BOC conducted a buy-bust operation on September 9, 2021 in Bacoor, Cavite which resulted in the neutralization of two (2) drug personalities and confiscation of 181 kilograms of shabu worth Php1.23 billion concealed in packaging labeled as โChinese teaโ.
8. Joint elements of PDEA, PNP, AFP and NICA on October 16, 2021 in Dasmariรฑas City, Cavite resulted in the arrest of two (2) drug personalities and confiscation of 239.55 kilograms of shabu worth Php1.62 billion concealed in packaging labeled as โChinese teaโ.
9. Joint elements of PDEA, PNP, AFP, NICA and BOC conducted a buy-bust operation on October 18, 2021 in Angeles City, Pampanga which resulted in the neutralization of four (4) Chinese nationals and confiscation of 37.9 kilograms of shabu worth Php258.14 million concealed in packaging labeled as โChinese teaโ.
10. Joint elements of the PDEA, PNP and BOC conducted a buy-bust operation on November 5, 2021 in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City which resulted in the arrest of one (1) drug personality and the confiscation of 9,936 pieces of M**A or โecstasyโ tablets worth Php16.8 million.
