LOOK | DYNASLOPE POST-LANDSLIDE ALERT ASSESSMENT (PLAA) AND WORKSHOP

The PHIVOLCS DYNASLOPE Team led the Post-Landslide Alert Assessment (PLAA) and Workshop conducted on August 5–6, 2026 at Barangay Pepe, Leon, Iloilo.

The activity was conducted with HHR’s, Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Pepe, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Leon, and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) – Iloilo.

The activity aimed to assess post-landslide conditions, strengthen landslide monitoring and early warning systems, and enhance coordination among concerned agencies and local stakeholders for improved disaster preparedness and community safety.

As of 8:00 AM today, 07 August 2026, LPA 08a (formerly "MAYMAY") has dissipated.

Meanwhile, Typhoon "DOLPHIN" has exited the monitoring domain of PAGASA. No other Low Pressure Areas (LPA) are being monitored for Tropical Cyclone Formation.

All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA.

As of 2:00 AM today, 07 August 2026, "MAYMAY" (International Name "KUJIRA") has weakened into an LPA and is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). It is "UNLIKELY" to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Typhoon with the international name "DOLPHIN" is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA.
