Through the continued partnership of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) NIR – Negros Occidental Field Office, the City Government of La Carlota, PESO La Carlota City, and the participating barangays, a TUPAD Payout Activity was conducted on June 4, 2026, benefiting 500 workers from Barangays Yubo, Haguimit, Ara-al, and San Miguel at their respective covered courts.
Following the completion of their 15-day emergency employment under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program, beneficiaries received wages amounting to PHP 8,250.00 each, based on the prevailing minimum wage of PHP 550.00 per day. Their work implementation primarily focused on social community services and agroforestry initiatives, contributing to environmental preservation and community improvement within their barangays.
The payout covered 125 beneficiaries from Barangay Yubo, 120 from Barangay Haguimit, 135 from Barangay Ara-al, and 120 from Barangay San Miguel—providing temporary employment and much-needed financial support to workers and their families.
Representing City Mayor Hon. Jose Luis “Joelu” D. Jalandoni, City Councilors Hon. Stephen G. Simbit, Hon. Danilo “Kapid” Badillo, and Hon. Chrisjohn “Wacky” Polo graced the activity and conveyed the City Government’s continued support for employment programs that uplift the lives of La Carloteños.
The smooth and orderly conduct of the payout was facilitated by TUPAD Coordinators Sir James Dimasuay, Sir Loued Gay Figueroa, and Sir Dominec Panabe, in close coordination with the Barangay Secretaries and Treasurers of the covered barangays and PESO Staff led by CGDH I/PESO Manager Helen D. Barrato.
This undertaking was made possible through the funding support awarded by DOLE-NIR Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe to the City Government of La Carlota under the leadership of City Mayor Hon. Jose Luis “Joelu” D. Jalandoni, reflecting a shared commitment to providing immediate relief and employment opportunities to disadvantaged workers.
Our sincerest appreciation is extended to the Barangay Councils and staff of Barangays Yubo, Haguimit, Ara-al, and San Miguel for their warm hospitality and invaluable assistance throughout the activity. We also thank the La Carlota City Public Information Office (PIO) for documenting and covering the event.
