'Equality, Freedom & Justice for All', San Miguel National High School conducts search for Mr. and Miss United Nations 2023.
Students have been given the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the world through several cultural performances, with each class representing one country. SMNHS honors the interstate organization—the United Nations that promotes social diversity, human rights, and world peace with this annual event.
In the said event, there were 37 participants who have participated and graced the audience with a performance from their respective countries. The pre-pageant competition was conducted to show off their talents on November 8, 2023.
Dean Mark Diaz (Russia), and Alliah Nicole Gonzaga (India), placed 3rd; candidates representing Malaysia secured the 2nd spot, Chenille Louise Diva and Steve Nash Marcelino; and both from the country of Spain snatched the 1st place, Akisha Sylla Sibur and Leonel Labanon.
On November 10, 2023, the search for Mr. and Miss United Nation was successfully held with the help of all the Araling Panlipunan teachers, faculty and staff, General PTA officers, SSLG officers as well as the Herodutos Club officers and members together with their adviser, Mrs. Dineh Agustin.
The event concluded with
major awards, including Ambassador of Goodwill from the Philippines, Vielle Montero, and Ambassadress of Goodwill from Malaysia, Chenille Louise Diva.
Darryl Anne Esparis from Grade 8-Santan (Korea) and Vielle Montero of Grade 10-Galileo (Philippines) were named Mr. and Miss Tourism.
Jace Xanti Arimas from Grade 7-Mercury representing Switzerland, and Akisha Shylla Sibur from Grade 12-Justice representing Spain, are Mr. and Miss Charity.
For Mr. and Ms. United Nations 2023, Mr. Steve Nash Marcelino and Ms. Chenille Louise Diva, both from Grade 10-Archimedes won the crown and they have proven that any contests will be won by dedication and unity.
Other contestants received minor awards are
Stevenash Marcelino and Chenille Louise Diva, who both represented Malaysia, won the People's Choice Award and the Best in Production Number. The Best in Talent winners were Leonel Labanon and Akisha Shylla Sibur of Grade 12-Justice, who were both Spain's representatives. Mariel Udani of Grade 11-Charity from France and Mike Saladan of Grade 11-Faith from the United Kingdom are the two who won the Best in Nationalistic Attire.
