Mayor Jose Luis "Joelu" Jalandoni has ordered the suspension of classes in all levels (both public and private) in La Carlota City tomorrow, Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

This proactive decision is a preemptive safety measure based on PAGASAโ€™s Weather Advisory #6, which places the province of Negros Occidental under a Yellow Rainfall Warning. Super Typhoon Bavi (locally named Inday) is actively enhancing the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), bringing a substantial risk of continuous heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts, and localized flooding to the region.

Because our cityโ€™s topography includes areas vulnerable to heavy rain runoff, this suspension ensures that our students, teachers, and school personnel remain safe at home before weather conditions worsen.

Yesterday, the Doรฑa Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School โ€“ Senior High School community successfully conducted its ๐‘ท๐’†๐’‚๐’„๐’† ๐‘น๐’‚๐’๐’๐’š as part of the ๐‘ท๐’†๐’‚๐’„๐’† ๐‘ญ๐’๐’‚๐’ˆ ๐‘น๐’‚๐’Š๐’”๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘ช๐’†๐’“๐’†๐’Ž๐’๐’๐’š, bringing together students, teachers, school personnel, and Schools Division Office Education Program Supervisor in Science Sir Salvador Hiponia in promoting a culture of peace, unity, respect, and discipline.

The program began with a ๐๐ซ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ž๐š๐œ๐ž led by ๐†๐ซ๐š๐๐ž 12 ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐š๐ฅ๐ž.
