OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII assisted a total of forty one (41) repatriated OFWs at the General Santos City International Airport from August 22 to August 28, where the forty one include one (1) OFW reported to be physically ill and one (1) OFW's human remains.

OWWA reiterates its commitment to assist returning OFWs as part of its mandate in protecting the welfare of our migrant workers. The agency will continue to monitor the situation, further solidify its repatriation efforts, and immediately assist OFWs to the best of its ability.

To celebrate the contributions of OFWs in the municipality, OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII goes to the Municipality of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat as OFW Family Circles (OFCs) in the locality gathered for its localized OFW Family Day.

Spearheaded by LGU Lebak during its 7th Kapeonan Festival, the celebration aims to honor migrant workers on their relentless efforts and sacrifices for their families and the country. The event starred activities such as serbisyo caravan, free check-up, granting of livelihood assistance, and among others. This corresponds to OWWA's continuing efforts to recognize OFWs as modern heroes of the Philippines. OWWA stands in solidarity with LGUs in empowering OFWs, and further uplifting their welfare towards a sustainable and comfortable future.

On August 06, OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII conducted a Financial Literacy training to beneficiaries of Education and Livelihood Assistance Program (ELAP) - Livelihood Component at OWWA Building, Prime Regional Center, City of Koronadal, Province of South Cotabato.

This was followed by the releasing of financial assistance to the beneficiaries, which aims to augment their family income through the opening or expansion of a business or a livelihood project. By combining with the Financial Literacy training, this ensures that the support remains sustainable.

Batid ng OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII ang mga hinaing at katanungang lumalabas online patungkol sa pamamahagi ng calamity assistance sa nakaraang 7.8 magnitude na lindol na tumama at nakaapekto sa lalawigan ng Sarangani at mga karatig na lugar, kabilang ang lungsod ng General Santos.

Nais naming linawin na ang aming tanggapan, katuwang ang mga lokal na pamahalaan, ay kasalukuyang nagsasagawa ng verification ng mga apektadong OFWs at kanilang mga pamilya.
