The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), headed by ๐๐ฟ. ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ ๐ฃ. ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ, was represented by Chief Administrative Officer ๐๐ฟ. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฎ ๐. ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ, who graced the activity with a message emphasizing the importance of digitalization, systematic records management, and accurate and reliable student records. She highlighted that proper records keeping is fundamental to efficient higher education administration and to ensuring that student information is protected, accessible, accurate, and readily available for legitimate academic and administrative purposes.
During the activity, ๐ ๐. ๐๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฃ. ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ, Administrative Officer III, presented the Statement of Purpose of the activity, highlighting the regionโs continuing initiatives toward strengthening records management through digital transformation. She emphasized that the implementation of the Records Management System (RMS) is an important step toward standardizing and streamlining the management of student records among HEIs in the region.
As part of the regionโs continuing digitalization efforts, plans are underway for the introduction of the Students Records Management System (SRMS) in the last quarter of 2026. The regional introduction will serve as a preparatory step for the national rollout of SRMS in 2027, allowing HEIs and school registrars to familiarize themselves with the system and prepare for the eventual migration of their existing student records and data from RMS to SRMS.
The transition to SRMS will further advance digital records management and supports the broader direction of CHED toward integrated, real-time data collection, reporting, and analytics, aligned with the vision of CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis for a more responsive, data-driven, and digitally enabled higher education system.
The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the leadership and preparation of the ARSCU XII President, Maโam Agnes Panolino, together with the dedicated members and committees of ARSCU XII, whose collective efforts contributed to the smooth and meaningful implementation of the program.
From RMS to SRMS, Region XII continues to move toward smarter records management, integrated data, and a more connected, responsive, and data-driven higher education system.
