SCPPO CONCLUDED PUROK LEADERSโ SUMMIT 2026 IN STO NIรO
Personnel of the South Cotabato Police Provincial Office (SCPPO), led by PLTCOL PETER L. PINALGAN JR., Chief, PCADU, under the supervision of PCOL ISRALENE Z. LAUREN, Acting Provincial Director, in partnership with the Sto. Niรฑo Municipal Police Station, Local Government Unit, and community stakeholders, spearheaded the Purok Leadersโ Summit 2026 on September 4, 2026, at Janitoโs Place, Brgy. Poblacion, Sto. Niรฑo, South Cotabato.
Conducted in line with the observance of the 32nd National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) 2026, the summit brought together purok leaders and community partners to strengthen their vital role as grassroots partners of the police in crime prevention, maintaining peace and order, and promoting community safety.
The activity featured an overview of the National Crime Prevention Week, followed by informative lectures and discussions on Handling of Complaints; Citizenโs Arrest; Katarungang Pambarangay and the Lupon Tagapamayapa; Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act; Republic Act No. 7610 and the Rights of Minors; Barangay Information Network; Roles and Responsibilities of Purok Leaders; and Anti-Illegal Drugs.
The summit highlighted the importance of informed, vigilant, and empowered purok leaders in identifying and addressing community concerns, promoting peaceful and lawful conflict resolution, and strengthening the flow of information and coordination between the community and law enforcement.
Through this initiative, SCPPO reaffirmed that crime prevention is a shared responsibility that requires the active participation and collective action of the police, local government, community leaders, and citizens.
The activity reflects SCPPOโs guiding pillars of Accountability, Care, and Excellence (ACE) and its continuing commitment to strengthening police-community partnerships toward a safer, more peaceful, and resilient South Cotabato.
