The DA-RFO 12 Research Division successfully conducted a two-day Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on March 24–25, 2026, in General Santos City under the DA-BAR funded project, “Expanding the Operations of DOSE-TBI in Region 12.”
The activity brought together a dynamic group of participants, including DOSE-TBI incubatees from Cohorts 1 to 3 and technology generators from Amas, Balindog, and Tupi Research and Experiment Stations uniting key players in research, innovation, and enterprise development.
Led by DOSE-TBI Project Leader Dr. Ray A. Rodriguez, the FGD served as a vibrant platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange. Participants openly shared their journeys, highlighting challenges encountered, and milestones achieved throughout the incubation process.
Discussions focused on the experiences and challenges of incubatees, as well as the support mechanisms provided by incubators. Insights underscored the importance of responsive support systems, continuous mentoring, and capacity-building initiatives in helping agripreneurs grow and succeed.
The activity also showcased inspiring best practices and success stories, demonstrating the tangible impact of the DOSE-TBI program. More importantly, it provided a venue to identify gaps, address areas for improvement, and generate actionable recommendations to further enhance the TBI program ensuring it remains relevant, inclusive, and responsive to the evolving needs of its stakeholders.
Through open dialogue, workshop sessions, and collaborative exchange of ideas, participants developed concrete strategies aimed at strengthening program implementation, improving support services, and fostering a more resilient and sustainable incubation ecosystem.
This initiative reflects DOSE-TBI’s continued commitment to empowering innovators, supporting startups, and transforming research-based technologies into viable and impactful enterprises for the agriculture sector.
