𝐃𝐀𝐑 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐀𝐏 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐛𝐮

To ensure that projects continue to serve agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) South Cotabato conducted a three-day monitoring activity for previously turned-over Foreign-Assisted Projects (FAPs) in Brgy. Ned, Lake Sebu, from September 1-3, 2026.

The Sustainability, Monitoring, and Evaluation (SME) Team of DAR-PBDD South Cotabato, along with MLGU-MENRO representative Mr. Radme Custodio and MARPOs Rynheart Daroy and Jomar Bangonon, carried out the activity to check on the status of the subprojects, with ARBO representatives sharing updates and important information that helped the team quickly spot and resolve any problems found during the field monitoring.

Among the projects monitored were solar dryers, bridges, and Small Irrigation Projects (SIPs) that support agrarian reform communities and beneficiaries’ livelihoods.

Through the annual monitoring, DAR assesses project conditions and utilization, identifies concerns, and ensures their continued benefits to agrarian reform communities.

Sa mga nagdaang araw, nakaranas ang South Cotabato at ilang bahagi ng bansa ng 𝘩𝘢𝘻𝘦 mula sa usok ng mga kagubatang nasusunog sa Kalimantan, Indonesia na dala-dala ng Habagat.

Ang 𝘩𝘢𝘻𝘦 ay ang manipis na ulap ng napakaliit na particles tulad ng usok, alikabok, o polusyon na lumulutang sa hangin at nakaaapekto sa ating kalusugan.

Bagama't pabago-bago ang kalidad ng hangin sa ating lalawigan, hinihikayat pa rin ng DAR South Cotabato ang publiko na maging maingat.

Ang kaligtasan ng ating mga kawani, mga magsasaka, at mga komunidad ay laging prayoridad. Mag-ingat po tayong lahat!

𝐋𝐓𝐈-𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!

Operation: Land Survey

Since March 2026, the Land Tenure Improvement Division (LTID) of DAR South Cotabato has been conducting a series of admin surveys in various municipalities across South Cotabato, including Surallah, Lake Sebu, Tampakan, Tantangan, Banga, Tupi, and Ned, Lake Sebu.

These activities are being undertaken to accurately establish property boundaries, identify and separate non-agricultural and retention areas, and generate the correct technical data needed for land valuation and distribution.

To date, the initiative has covered nearly 691 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs), involving approximately 1,490.6 hectares of Private Agricultural Lands (PAL) and Government-Owned Lands (GOL) under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project.

Through these efforts, DAR South Cotabato continues to ensure that land administration is accurate and systematic, providing the technical groundwork for the effective implementation of the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project.

The validated boundaries and updated technical data support the project in parcelizing agricultural lands and issuing individual titles to qualified ARBs, further strengthening their land tenure security.

𝐃𝐀𝐑 𝐒𝐨𝐂𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝟏𝟔 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬

SEPTEMBER 1, 2026—Sixteen (16) Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries’ Organizations (ARBOs) in South Cotabato are now positioned to explore wider opportunities in marketing and credit following their participation in a Marketing Forum facilitated by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) South Cotabato–Program Beneficiaries Development Division (PBDD) at Greenstate Suites, Koronadal City.

“DAR is not just about titles; it is about what we can do after the land is awarded and how we can help our farmers turn their land into opportunities," said PARPO II Valerie F. Seiton in her message, highlighting the office’s commitment to ensuring that ARBs are not left to journey alone after receiving the land they have long worked for.

Meanwhile, CARPO-PBDD Lorna N. Garde emphasized that this forum is one way to bring support services closer to farmer organizations by connecting them with agencies that can provide opportunities for their products, enterprises, and financing needs.

The participating ARBOs each introduced their respective organizations, products, and services, while partner agencies presented available programs and assistance that may support their marketing, financing, and organizational development needs. The activity also facilitated the registration of interested organizations in the Farmers and Fisherfolk Enterprise Development Information System (FFEDIS) of DA XII.

Partner agencies present during the forum included the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) XII, National Irrigation Administration (NIA) South Cotabato–Sarangani Irrigation Management Office (IMO), and Department of Agriculture (DA) XII.

The Marketing Forum is an initiative of DAR-PBDD South Cotabato aimed at strengthening ARBOs’ linkages with markets, financing institutions, and government support programs; enabling them to expand market opportunities, access credit, and become more viable and sustainable organizations.

The “Ber” months are officially here, and yes, Jose Mari Chan has entered the chat! But while everyone is busy switching to Christmas mode, DAR South Cotabato remains busy delivering quality agrarian reform programs and services to its Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs).

Among the activities lined up for the coming months is the Agrarian Reform Justice on Wheels (ARJOW), which will bring free agrarian legal assistance and services closer to ARBs. Because what could be more meaningful this season than bringing essential services closer to the farmers we serve?

So, whenever Jose Mari Chan sees boys and girls selling lanterns on the street… DAR South Cotabato sees ARBs receiving the assistance they need.

𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀' 𝗗𝗮𝘆

Not all heroes are remembered by name, but their courage still shapes the country they helped build.

This August 31, the Philippines pays tribute to them on National Heroes' Day, a day set aside not for one name alone, but for the countless men and women, past and present, whose bravery defined our history.

DAR South Cotabato joins this tribute, carrying forward the same spirit of service and sacrifice in its commitment to the Filipino people.

𝗦𝗼𝗖𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗥𝗕𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗢 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝘀

As part of the continuing partnership with the Landbank of the Philippines (LBP), a total of eighty-five (85) Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) from South Cotabato attended the AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program Orientation and Financial Literacy Training today, August 28, at the Gaisano Grand Mall, Koronadal City.

The activity aimed to introduce ARBs and Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) to the AGRISENSO PLUS Lending Program and its documentary requirements as it offers low-interest rate designed to support local farming operations.

Under the program, qualified ARBs may avail themselves of the said loan for agriculture-related ventures at a fixed interest rate of three percent (3%) per annum while ARBOs are eligible for five percent (5%). Borrowers are also entitled to life and credit life insurance as well as training for free to help improve their farm operations.

Through this orientation, DAR SoCot continues to link its ARBs to financial institutions and to programs that can help sustain and grow their livelihoods, further strengthening the agency's commitment to the socio-economic development of ARBs and their communities.

𝟕𝟗 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐏𝐎𝐬) 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭

Seventy-nine (79) People’s Organizations (POs) from South Cotabato have been approved for implementation under the VISTA Project following a deliberation conducted by the DAR Central Office at Sequoia Hotel in Quezon City.

Leading the presentation was PARPO II Valerie F. Seiton, who emphasized the readiness of these organizations to take on enterprise development initiatives and maximize the opportunities provided through the VISTA Project.

These organizations are from Tupi, Tboli, Ned in Lake Sebu, and Koronadal City and are under various Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs), including TRUPALUCEBO (Tupi), LEMUBONG (Tboli), EL KLOWIL (Ned, Lake Sebu), and MACASANTO (Koronadal City).

A Hub-and-Spoke approach will be adopted by the POs as part of the project’s proposed initiatives. This approach will establish hubs to support farmer organizations, enhance collaboration, maximize resources, improve their enterprises, and expand member opportunities.

VISTA National Project Director and Assistant Secretary Marjorie P. Ayson led the evaluation, showing DAR’s continued efforts to strengthen farmer organizations and expand opportunities for agrarian reform beneficiaries. She expounded on the DAR-VISTA people's sustained collaboration with the LGUs in VISTA areas and providing employment opportunities for the locals especially our ARBs, taking into consideration agricultural development and industrialization without compromising environmental protocols.

Also present during the deliberation were VISTA Deputy Project Manager Nelson Faustino, CARPO-PBDD Lorna N. Garde, SARPO Melody A. Magbanua, PPC Gazel C. Manojo, and M&E Kevin Jan Bagon.

Through the VISTA Project and its Hub-and-Spoke approach, DAR South Cotabato aims to strengthen partnerships among POs, improve access to support and markets, and build sustainable livelihoods for farmers, their families, and communities.
