With deep sorrow, the City Health Office honors the life and legacy of former Mayor Atty. Eliordo U. Ogena—a brilliant and visionary leader whose unwavering commitment to public health transformed our city.

Through his leadership, vital health institutions came to life: the Main District, GPS District, and Concepcion District Health Centers—bringing healthcare closer to the people and ensuring that every community had access to compassionate and quality medical services. His foresight led to the establishment of the Animal Bite Center, the fully functional City Epidemiologic Surveillance Unit, and the 24-hour Health Emergency Management System—cornerstones of a stronger and more responsive healthcare system.

More than infrastructure, his dedication was evident in strengthening the very foundation of healthcare—prioritizing plantilla positions, empowering health workers, and advancing sanitation services and medical missions. He was steadfast and fully supportive in all aspects of health-related programs and initiatives, always placing healthcare above all. Through these, he ensured that services are not only available but sustained by competent and committed professionals, reaching even the most underserved communities.

And most of all, we will never forget your courage and leadership in fighting for our people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We carry his vision forward as we continue working toward the realization of a City Hospital—a dream deeply rooted in his passion for accessible and inclusive healthcare for all.

‼️ ANXIETY AT DEPRESSIVE SYMPTOMS, NANGUNGUNANG DAHILAN NG PAGHINGI NG TULONG SA MENTAL HEALTH HOTLINE SA HULING LINGGO NG TAON‼️

Umabot sa 65 Pilipino ang tumawag sa DOH–National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) hotline dahil sa nararanasang anxiety at depressive symptoms ngayong papalapit na ang pagtatapos ng taon.

Pangalawa sa mga dahilan ng pagtawag sa crisis hotline ang problema sa love life o relasyon, kasunod ang suliranin sa pamilya.

Natanggap ng NCMH ang karamihan ng mga tawag bago ang bisperas ng Pasko mula sa mga indibidwal na edad 18 hanggang 30 taong gulang.

Sa kabuuan, umabot na sa 451 mental health–related cases ang naitala mula December 21 hanggang December 26, 2025.
