This year's theme, "Rights First, Legislation Forward: Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development," calls for strengthened collaboration in advancing disability-inclusive legislation, protecting the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs), and promoting their full, equal, and meaningful participation in all aspects of society, as emphasized by the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA).

The Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) expresses its gratitude to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for donating four (4) wheelchairs, one (1) forearm crutch, and one (1) quad cane to six (6) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

This initiative, with the support of Municipal Mayor Edwin P. Abucayan, reflects the Local Government Unit's continued commitment to improving the welfare and quality of life of persons with disabilities.

The Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (MPDAO) proudly and successfully hosted the Municipal Disability Summit 2026 on May 26, 2026, at the Tennis Court, Poblacion, Kitaotao, Bukidnon.

With the theme "Driving Inclusive Development Through Bold Leadership and United Action," the summit emphasized collaboration, strong leadership, and active participation. It served as a platform for learning, sharing experiences, and empowerment, with Differently Abled Persons (DAP) Presidents from various barangays of Kitaotao.

Sincere appreciation is extended to our distinguished guest speaker, Ms. Sylvia J. Ubanan, RSW, MPA, for her insightful and inspiring discussion aligned with the summit's theme.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Edwin Abucayan for his unwavering support and recognition of the Municipal Disability Summit 2026.

Ngayong taon, tampok ang temang:
โ€œGinintuang Ani ng Pag-ibig Tungo sa Matagumpay at Tunay na Inklusyon.โ€

Ipinapaalala ng temang ito na ang inklusyon ay hindi basta adhikainโ€”ito ay bunga ng tuloy-tuloy na malasakit, tamang suporta, at sama-samang pagkilos. Ang โ€œginintuang aniโ€ ay sumisimbolo sa tagumpay na nakakamit kapag ang mga batang may intellectual disability ay nabibigyan ng maagang interbensyon, inklusibong edukasyon, at pantay na oportunidad sa komunidad.

Hinihikayat ng NCDA ang mga lokal na pamahalaan, paaralan, institusyon, at pamilya na higit pang palakasin ang maagang interbensyon, inklusibong edukasyon, at komprehensibong suporta. Ang tunay na inklusyon ay hindi lamang pagdiriwang tuwing may paggunitaโ€”ito ay konkretong aksyon, patas na oportunidad, at paggalang sa karapatang pantao at sa kapansanan araw-araw.
