Our Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), led by Engr. Juliemery C. Morales, organized a remarkable session last Friday, April 05, 2024 at the Municipal Function Hall in Poblacion, Kitaotao, Bukidnon. With a grateful heart, we thank, Hon. Edwin Abucayan, our Municipal Mayor for his support in approving this vital training, “Training to Collectors and Personnel on Proper Handling and Disposal of Waste and other Environmental Laws”.
With engaging topics like Environmental Laws, Air Pollution, and Solid Waste Management, delivered by esteemed speakers including Edgardo G. Agbayani, CENR Officer-Don Carlos, Bukidnon; For. Raquel Z. Doydoy, Chief, PEMU-BUKIDNON and Johnny L. Mancawan, COAII-BENRO. The event was a resounding success. Empowering 35 Barangay Captains and their Barangay Kagawads Chairman, Committee on Environment alongside dedicated garbage collectors, we're committed to driving positive change for our community through enhanced waste handling and environmental stewardship. With the invaluable support of our beloved Municipal Mayor, Edwin P. Abucayan, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, headed by Engr. Juliemery C. Morales, organized a significant tree planting effort along the tranquil banks of the Simud River, nestled within the picturesque Barangay Sinuda, to commemorate the harmonious convergence of environmental stewardship and societal milestones. MENRO launched this wonderful undertaking on March 26, 2024, coinciding with the commemoration of National Women's Month, the revered observation of World Water Day, and the beloved International Day of Forests.

In a remarkable display of unity and shared vision, an esteemed consortium of partners joined hands to fortify the success of this environmentally conscious expedition including, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office and Municipal Tourism Office of Kitaotao, CENRO-Don Carlos, the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) in Maramag, Bukidnon, PNP Region 10, Del Monte Philippines Inc., BLGU-Sinuda, and El Cinco Farmville and Resort.
As the trees take root and grow, may they stand as silent sentinels, guardians of our ecosystems and custodians of our shared future.
