WORLD TOURISM MONTH 2026 CELEBRATION | KIDAPAWAN CITY 🎊

Kidapawan City successfully celebrated World Tourism Month 2026 through a meaningful day of learning, creativity, recognition, and collaboration, centered on this year’s theme: “Sustainable Tourism: Building Resilient Communities and Destinations in Times of Crisis.”
The morning session, held via Zoom, was graced by the City Mayor, Atty. Jose Paolo M. Evangelista, who highlighted the resilience of our tourism stakeholders and their valuable contribution to the city’s economy.

Our resource speaker, Mr. Rosyell Angelo Piosca of the University of Southern Mindanao, emphasized that sustainable tourism is not about creating destinations that never experience challenges, but communities that know how to face and overcome them. He reminded us that beyond creating destinations people want to visit, we must build communities where people are proud to live, proud to work, and proud to welcome the world.
We also recognized and honored our Outstanding Tourism-Related Establishments for their commitment, dedication, and valuable contributions to Kidapawan’s tourism industry. Their continued efforts help create memorable visitor experiences, generate livelihood opportunities, and make our city a more welcoming destination.

The morning session concluded with a message of support from City Councilor Dr. Philbert Malaluan, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting tourism stakeholders, including through the passage of the IRR of the Revised Tourism Code of Kidapawan City.

The celebration continued in the afternoon with a colorful and energetic Zumba session, joined by Zumba enthusiasts from Kidapawan City and neighboring municipalities. The event also featured the recognition of the Top 3 Best Outfits and Performers. 💃🕺

The City Government of Kidapawan, through the City Tourism and Promotions Office, extends its heartfelt gratitude to all our tourism stakeholders, partners, participants, and supporters for your continued commitment and active participation.

Together, let us continue building a resilient, sustainable, and welcoming Kidapawan City. 💚

Mabuhay, Kidapawan! Mabuhay ang Turismo! 🌿✨

TOURISM PRODUCT MARKET SURVEY SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED IN KIDAPAWAN CITY! ✨

Kidapawan City takes another step forward in strengthening its tourism development efforts as the Department of Tourism Region XII (DOT XII) selected the city as the pilot destination for the conduct of the Tourism Product Market Survey (TPMS).
The selection of Kidapawan City recognizes its consistently high volume of overnight visitor arrivals, making it an ideal destination for gathering valuable insights from visitors and tourism stakeholders.

The TPMS, a comprehensive assessment of Philippine tourism products, seeks to determine key information on visitor profiles, travel characteristics, economic impact, and visitor perceptions. The data gathered will provide important inputs for tourism planning, product development, and destination management.

The survey was successfully conducted from September 7 to 12, 2026, covering selected tourism-related establishments in Kidapawan City with steady to high visitor volume.
The City Tourism Office sincerely thanks the Department of Tourism Region XII for choosing Kidapawan City as the pilot destination for this important initiative.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to all our Tourism Stakeholders who willingly participated and extended their support and cooperation throughout the activity. Your continued partnership is vital in advancing the city’s tourism industry.

The results of the TPMS will be shared with the participating tourism stakeholders and will serve as valuable reference in strengthening tourism programs, services, and products in the city.
Together, let us continue working toward a more vibrant, sustainable, and competitive tourism industry for Kidapawan City! 🌿✨

Note: this is my opinion only, I don’t know the real reason.

# #(Williamor Magbanua| City Information Office)
