The Municipality of Kibawe successfully conducted a 3-day Barangay Nutrition Action Plan (BNAP) Formulation Activity on November 26โ€“28, 2025 in Kibawe, Bukidnon. Sponsored by Del Monte Foundation, the activity was actively participated in by our Barangay Nutrition Scholars and Barangay Officials. Together, we strengthen nutrition governance and advance our shared goal of a healthier, well-nourished Kibawe.

Provincial Health Office Bukidnon NO III Rebecca R. Hibaya, Assistant ND Mitzi D. Espuerta and ND I Lhalene Flores, facilitated the three-day activity. The Municipal Nutrition Office headed by MNAO Josie B. Busig was the overall secretariat and workshop documentor.

๐Ÿ“… July 1, 2025 marked the beginning of with our heartfelt celebration under the theme โ€œSa PPAN: Samaโ€‘sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!โ€ and the subโ€‘theme โ€œFood at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!โ€

MUNICIPAL NUTRITION ACTION OFFICE ORGANIZES โ€œIDOL KO SI NANAYโ€ TRAINING

The Local Government Unit of Kibawe organizes a training on โ€œIdol ko si Nanay: Learning Session for 1st 1000 days of life; Roll-out training for BNS and Midwives/Nursesโ€ on May 27-29 at Municipal Tourism Hall. The local health workers were convened, including Municipal and Department of Health (DOH) deployed Midwives, Nurses, 3 Child Development Workers and 1 Barangay Health Worker for the three-day training. Through nutrition education and behavior modification promotion, the activity seeks to enhance a comprehensive community-based intervention.
The technical sessions were facilitated by Ms. Jann Abigail O. Portillas, Mrs. Marissa Anne J. Rubio, -Nutritionist Dietician II (PDOHO), Mrs. Rosanel D. Pague, -AICS Team Leader (DSWD) and Mrs. Josie B. Busig, RSW-MSWDO/MNAO. The said activity equips the participants on maternal health, Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices as well as key ECCD interventions.
The participants during the training were actively engaged in various discussions, activities and workshops which strengthen and enhances their knowledge and skills on Early Childhood Care and Development โ€“ First 1000 Days (ECCD-F1KD) program. The training culminated with a return cooking demonstration, IYCF counseling and return demonstration where participants applied their learnings in preparing complementary food intended for children 6-9 mos. and 9-12 mos.

With the 'Idol Ko Si Nanay' training, Mother's skills, knowledge, and heart for family and community are further strengthened. We salute all mothers who continue to work hard!

February 19-21 - the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kibawe organized a comprehensive Basic Course Training for 28 Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), at Municipal Tourism Hall, Kibawe Bukidnon. The training was facilitated by experienced resource persons including DOH-NDDP Jann Abigail O. Portillas, RND and DOH-NDDP Lojean Mabaylan, RND. The event begin with an inspiring opening message from MNAO Designee Josie B. Busig, RSW.
The training emphasized strengthening their skills in addressing local nutrition challenges and aligning their strategies with national guidelines.
The BNSs learned about the BNS Program, functions, values and characteristics, basic concept on food and nutrition and forms of malnutrition.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our ever supportive Mayor Hon. Reynaldo S. Ang Rabanes and all officials for the success of the event.

The Municipal Nutrition Evaluation Team (MNET) led by Team Leader MNAO Josie Bagbag Busig assessed the 2024 performance of Barangay Old Kibawe, as well as (1) Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Ms. Arlene Lanutan on nutrition program management through desk review.

The Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation, or MELLPI Pro, is the monitoring and evaluation mechanism for the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition at the barangay level.
