DOH-CHD-CAR urges the practice of regular handwashing with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizers, avoid close contact with people who are visibly ill, and maintain appropriate cough and sneeze etiquette. Those feeling ill are advised to limit social contact and seek medical advice from local health facilities. Staying home when sick protects vulnerable family members and reduces community transmission.

To prevent heat exhaustion and heatstroke, the public should stay well-hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas, and avoid direct sun exposure during midday hours.

Travelers should ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, plan for adequate rest before long trips, carry sufficient food and drinking water along with essential medications, and observe all road safety regulations. Keep local emergency contact details and a basic first aid kit in handy for all trips.
The DOH-CHD-CAR and DOH hospitals across the region will be on Code White Alert from March 30 to April 6, 2026. Under this alert, medical personnel and emergency teams are prepared to provide continuous health services and respond to emergencies.
