FIRE PREVENTION MONTH KICK-OFF CEREMONY | 01 March 2024

The BFP Kasibu personnel headed by SFO3 Edgar P Castulo, together with different government agencies and private sectors of this municipality joins the "Kick-Off Ceremony" for the Observance of Fire Prevention Month 2024 with the theme "Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog Hindi ka nag Iisa" as the campaign slogan this year.
The "kick-off ceremony" began with a briefing for station personnel and ended with a motorcade around the municipality. The Bureau of Fire Protection uses a motorcade as one tool among several to inform barangays about fire safety awareness in their area.
TRIVIA:
The Observance of Fire Prevention was first signed by the Late President Ferdinand E Marcos on a Proclamation 115-A that assigned a particular aspect of safety and accident prevention to each month of the year.
This initiative, according to the proclamation, propagates "safety consciousness among the people everyday of the year as a positive preventive approach to a problem that can be solved by more Caution, Vigilance, Sobriety, Exercise of Common Sense and Respect of the Law".
Incidentally, March happens to be one of the hottest months in the country according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA).
Thus, March has one of the most number of fire incidents in a year.
