The Local Government Unit of Kapatagan, under the leadership of Mayor Beth Baguio Ali, advises all residents to take precautionary measures as haze and elevated fine particulate matter (PMโ.โ
) are affecting parts of Northern Mindanao.
The DENR-EMB reported that haze associated with transboundary smoke from fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia, may be transported toward the Philippines by prevailing winds. Recent monitoring showed Iligan City at AQI 209 (Acutely Unhealthy) on September 1, while Cagayan de Oro City was also classified as Acutely Unhealthy in the latest September 2 advisory.

๐ท Wear a well-fitted N95/KN95 mask when going outdoors during hazy conditions.
๐ Limit prolonged outdoor activities, especially for children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions.
๐ช Keep doors and windows closed when haze is noticeable and maintain clean indoor air.
๐ง Stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary strenuous outdoor activities.
๐ฅ Avoid open burning of leaves, garbage, and other materials.
