On September 8, 2026, at about 9:20 AM, DNPPO personnel led by PLT VANESSA QUIBEL Police Provincial Human Rights Officer, inspected Kapalong MPS custodial facility. The visits were conducted to enforce PNP Memorandum Circular 2024-014 protocols, ensuring custodial procedures are followed and the rights and welfare of Persons Under Police Custody (PUPCs) are protected. Held at Kapalong MPS, Brgy Maniki, Kapalong Davao del Norte.

On September 8, 2026 at about 10:00AM, Kapalong MPS personnel led by PCPT CRISANTO S QUIBRAR, DCOP conducted simultaneous Checkpoint, Oplan Bakal Sita, and implementation of R.A. 4136 along the National Highway at Purok 1, Barangay Maniki, Kapalong, Davao del Norte. All passing private and public vehicles were courteously flagged down and subjected to a visual search to detect any possible concealment of fi****ms and other contraband items. This activity was conducted in line with the implementation of RA 10591 and the campaign against terrorism. It also aimed to intensify anti-criminality efforts and ensure public safety and security within the AOR.

The post circulating from "DavaoRegional Daily" claiming that the victim, "Yanyan," died in the Kapalong shooting incident is completely 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗦𝗘 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗢𝗨𝗦.

THE FACTS:

THE VICTIM IS ALIVE and survived the incident and is currently recovering. The claim that he passed away at Kapalong District Hospital is entirely untrue.

STOP spreading unverified information. Spreading sensationalized fake news for any means causing unnecessary panic and distress to the victim's family.
