Kananga, Leyte โ€“ May 29, 2026 โ€“ Personnel of the Kananga Fire Station, under the leadership of FINSP ALEX A COLABA, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, successfully conducted a Fire Safety Lecture and Fire Drill at Partners Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) located in Brgy. Tongonan, Kananga, Leyte.

The activity aimed to promote awareness of common fire hazards in the workplace and surrounding community, while providing participants with important knowledge and practical skills in fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and proper response during fire incidents.

Employees actively joined the hands-on demonstration, which included the proper use of fire extinguishers, the blanketing method, and other basic fire safety techniques designed to help prevent and reduce fire-related risks.

This activity demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the Kananga Fire Station to strengthening fire safety awareness, improving disaster preparedness, and encouraging a culture of safety and resilience in workplaces and within the community.

RESCUE OPERATION | ANIMAL RESPONSE ASSISTANCE

Kananga, Leyte โ€“ May 26, 2026 โ€“ Personnel of the Kananga Fire Station, led by FINSP ALEX A COLABA, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, promptly responded to a request for assistance involving the safe transport and rescue of a dog. Upon arrival, the team coordinated with the owner and carefully secured the animal using a rescue net to ensure safety and prevent injury during handling and transport.

The rescued animal was successfully transported and safely turned over to the designated holding area without incident.

This activity highlights the commitment of Kananga Fire Station not only in fire suppression and emergency response, but also in providing assistance in animal rescue operations within the community.
