The personnel of Kalibo Fire Station, under the supervision of FSINSP DELSIE S DE BORJA, Municipal Fire Marshal, and under the guidance of FCSUPT WILBERTO RICO NEIL A KWAN TIU, Officer-in-Charge, Bureau of Fire Protection, and FCSUPT EDWIN P VARGAS, DSC, Regional Director, BFP Region 6, conducted a Daily Skills Refresher focusing on the proper procedure for hose coupling.

The refresher activity focused on strengthening the personnel’s familiarity and proficiency in properly connecting and securing fire hose couplings. Proper hose coupling is essential in establishing a reliable water supply line and ensuring the efficient deployment of firefighting equipment during emergency operations.
Through regular skills practice and hands-on familiarization, personnel are continuously prepared to respond efficiently and safely to fire incidents and other emergencies.

𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 | 0𝟳 SEPTEMBER 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The personnel of Kalibo Fire Station conducted a Rank Inspection on September 07, 2026, under the supervision of FSINSP DELSIE S DE BORJA, Municipal Fire Marshal, and under the guidance of FCSUPT WILBERTO RICO NEIL A KWAN TIU, Officer-in-Charge, Bureau of Fire Protection, and FCSUPT EDWIN P VARGAS, DSC, Regional Director, BFP Region 6.

The Rank Inspection included the evaluation of the proper wearing of uniforms, cleanliness and neatness of attire, proper placement and wearing of insignia and rank, appropriate grooming, and the overall appearance of each personnel. This activity aims to ensure that all personnel adhere to the prescribed standards of uniformity and discipline as an essential part of professionalism in public service.

A proper and well-maintained uniform is not only a symbol of identity as personnel of the BFP but also reflects discipline, respect for the institution, readiness, and pride in one’s duty.

Through regular Rank Inspections, Kalibo Fire Station continues to maintain a high standard of discipline, orderliness, professionalism, and preparedness among its personnel, ensuring that they remain ready to respond to the needs and emergencies of the community.

The personnel of Kalibo Fire Station, under the supervision of FSINSP DELSIE S DE BORJA, Municipal Fire Marshal, and the guidance of FCSUPT WILBERTO RICO NEIL A KWAN TIU, Bureau of Fire Protection Officer-in-Charge, and FCSUPT EDWIN P VARGAS, DSC, Regional Director, BFP Region 6, successfully conducted a Daily Skills Refresher Program focusing on Drills and Ceremonies.
As part of the activity, personnel reviewed and practiced the fundamental drills and ceremonial movements, including proper formation, marching, facing movements, saluting, and the observance of established protocols and commands. The training emphasized discipline, teamwork, precision, and uniformity in the ex*****on of drills.
This refresher program aims to reinforce the professionalism, discipline, and preparedness of every firefighter by ensuring familiarity with standard drills and ceremonial procedures. Regular training helps develop confidence, coordination, and responsiveness, which are essential qualities in both ceremonial functions and emergency operations.

As part of the continuing efforts to strengthen preparedness, coordination, and response capabilities, the personnel of Kalibo Fire Station conducted a Simulation Exercise on Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) – Heimlich Maneuver.

The activity aimed to enhance the responders’ knowledge and practical skills in recognizing and managing cases of airway obstruction caused by a foreign object, particularly choking incidents that require immediate and appropriate intervention.

The Heimlich Maneuver, or abdominal thrusts, is an essential first-aid technique used to help dislodge an object blocking a person’s airway. In choking emergencies, every second matters. Prompt recognition and proper ex*****on of life-saving interventions can help restore the victim’s airway and prevent serious injury or death while awaiting further medical assistance.

Through this simulation exercise, firefighters were able to strengthen their teamwork, communication, decision-making, and confidence in handling choking emergencies. Regular drills and practical exercises ensure that responders remain prepared to act quickly, effectively, and safely when faced with real-life emergencies.
