ONE CALL, SWIFT ACTION: UNIFIED 911 FOILS DRUG ACTIVITY IN CAGAYAN
A single call to Unified 911 set off a rapid police response that stopped an illegal drug operation in its tracks, proving once again how timely information and swift action can protect communities from the dangers of illegal drugs.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) highlighted the critical role of the Unified 911 emergency system following a successful early-morning operation in Claveria, Cagayan on January 10, 2026. Acting on an intelligence report received at around 5:00 AM, police personnel immediately moved to a residential area where illegal drug activity was reportedly taking place.
By 6:00 AM, responding units were able to arrest one individual at the scene and seize suspected shabu along with various drug paraphernalia. Authorities recovered a total of approximately 20.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride with an estimated standard drug price of โฑ139,400.00, as well as weighing scales, improvised drug paraphernalia, mobile phones, and other related items.
The arrested individual is now under police custody, while the confiscated drug evidence has been turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
Acting Chief PNP, Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., underscored how the Unified 911 system empowers both the police and the public to act decisively against illegal activities.
He added that the operation shows how community cooperation remains a powerful weapon in the fight against illegal drugs. โHindi lang ito usapin ng pag-aresto. Ang mahalaga, naiiwasan nating masira ang buhay ng mga kabataan at pamilya dahil sa droga,โ he said.
The PNP continues to urge the public to actively use the Unified 911 hotline to report crimes and suspicious activities, emphasizing that public vigilance and quick reporting are essential to keeping communities safe.
This accomplishment reflects the PNPโs continuing commitment to its guiding principle: Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.
