What is Numancia, Aklan?

Originally named Majanos—a Malayan word meaning "lowland"—Numancia is the only municipality in Aklan without any hills or elevated terrain.

Situated just 5 kilometers (3.1 mi) from the provincial capital of Kalibo, Numancia is bordered by Kalibo to the east, the Sibuyan Sea to the north, Makato to the west, and Lezo to the south.

Numancia is widely recognized locally as the province's home for the best-tasting roasted pig (lechon).
