Under the directive of Hon. Governor Datu Tucao O. Mastura, CPA, the Provincial Nutrition Council successfully conducted its 1st Quarterly Meeting, marking the first complete gathering of all Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAOs) and Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs) from the twelve municipalities of Maguindanao del Norte, with the full presence and support of partner agencies.

Sincere gratitude is extended to Bai Shajida B. Mastura, Al-Hadja, Chief of Staff, and to the Secretary of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Datu Naut Ambolodto, for their guidance and continued support. Appreciation is likewise conveyed to the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), DSWD Field Office XII, and all partner agencies, as well as to the MNAOs and MPDCs for their complete attendance and active participation.

Congratulations are extended to the MNAOs for their commendable accomplishment report presentations and to the newly elected Provincial Nutrition Officer Committee. Special recognition is also accorded to the PNAO Designate, Baiking A. Balinte, PhD, for making this milestone meeting possible.

This initiative reflects strengthened unity, collaboration, and commitment towards improved nutrition outcomes in Maguindanao del Norte.

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐍𝐔𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐋 | 𝟐𝐍𝐃 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐘 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆

Participated in the 2nd Quarterly Meeting of the Provincial Nutrition Council of Maguindanao del Norte, held on August 18, 2026, at the Provincial Conference Hall, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

The meeting brought together key nutrition stakeholders, including representatives from the Provincial Government, Sangguniang Panlalawigan, provincial offices, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs), Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAOs), and partner organizations.

The meeting provided a valuable platform for the presentation of second-quarter accomplishments, implementation updates, identified gaps, issues and concerns, and proposed actions at the municipal and provincial levels. Updates on ongoing nutrition initiatives and plans for the succeeding months were also discussed.

The discussions highlighted the importance of stronger coordination, collaborative planning, and collective action in addressing nutrition and sanitation concerns, strengthening Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) initiatives, and sustaining support for Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) and other community-based nutrition programs.

As a participant, I am grateful for the opportunity to engage with fellow nutrition stakeholders, gain valuable insights, and contribute to the continuing efforts to strengthen nutrition governance and program implementation in our communities.

Together, we remain committed to advancing effective nutrition interventions toward healthier, more resilient, and nutrition-secure communities in Maguindanao del Norte. 💚

The Provincial Nutrition Council of Maguindanao del Norte successfully conducted its 2nd Quarterly Meeting on August 18, 2026, at the Provincial Conference Hall, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff Bai Shajida B. Mastura, representing Provincial Governor Hon. Datu Tucao O. Mastura, CPA, Focal Health Program Ma’am Norhaina Akmad-Abdullah, Haguiar Simpal Salim, Representative from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, representatives from the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs); Municipal Nutrition Action Officers (MNAOs), Mr. Ali S. Maton, representing ChildFund Project Manager Mr. Tammy Ebus.

Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Princessa O. Ampatuan, RM, MPA welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of collaboration in strengthening nutrition programs and addressing gaps in service delivery.

The meeting focused on the presentation of second-quarter accomplishments, implementation updates, issues and concerns, identified gaps, and proposed actions at the municipal and provincial levels. Updates on ongoing nutrition initiatives and plans for the succeeding months were also discussed.

Representing the Provincial Governor, Bai Shajida B. Mastura reaffirmed the Provincial Government’s support for nutrition and sanitation programs, emphasizing the importance of a clean and healthy environment, strengthened Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) initiatives, and continued support for the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS).

The meeting reinforced the commitment of the Provincial Nutrition Council and its partners to strengthen coordination and collective action toward improved nutrition outcomes and a healthier, more nutrition-secure Maguindanao del Norte.

The Local Government Unit of Kabuntalan, through the Municipal Nutrition Action Office (MNAO), in partnership with our Sponsor for this program the Gender and Development (GAD), the Rural Health Unit (RHU), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), Barangay Health Workers (BHW), Municipal Social Services and Development Office (MSSDO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Child Development Centers, and other partner agencies, successfully commemorated the 52nd Nutrition Month on July 30, 2026, carrying this year's theme:

“Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!”

The celebration reaffirmed the Municipality's commitment to promoting proper nutrition, food security, environmental sustainability, and the overall health and well-being of every Kabuntalanan. The activity brought together children, parents, community volunteers, and local stakeholders in meaningful programs and interactive activities that emphasized the importance of healthy eating habits and environmental responsibility.

The Local Government Unit expresses its sincere appreciation to all government offices, partner agencies, volunteers, educators, parents, and participants whose dedication and cooperation contributed to the successful conduct of this year's celebration. Their unwavering support reflects our shared commitment to building healthier families and stronger communities.

The Local Government Unit of Kabuntalan successfully facilitated the distribution of 4,000 food packs from DSWD Field Office XII and 300 food packs from BARMM-READi to families affected by the recent flooding in the municipality.

This humanitarian assistance underscores the commitment of the national and regional governments to provide immediate relief and support to communities during times of disaster.

The LGU Kabuntalan extends its sincere appreciation to DSWD Field Office XII and BARMM-READi for their timely assistance and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the affected families.
