THE NATIONAL COMMISSION ON INDIGENOUS PEOPLES-APAYAO celebrates the Indigenous Peoples Month & 25th IPRA Commemoration with the theme "25 Years Fullfilling the Indigenous Peoples Rights and Bridging the Gaps through ICCs/IPs Convergence with Partners and Stakeholders to Ensure Economic Sustainability and Security in the Ancestral Domains" at ECBJR Multipurpose Building and Evacuation Center ( Aliwa Gym), San Isidro Sir, Luna, Apayao on November 4, 2022.
The celebration is in partnership with the PLGU-Apayao pursuant to Proclamation No. 1906 and series of 2009 and Proclamation No. 486.
The highlights of the activity started with a parade joined by the PNP, AFP, BFP, Army, National Line Agencies, and the different ethnolinguistic groups of the 7 Municipalities within Apayao. Cultural performances showcasing the Isnag, Kalinga, Ibanag, Tinggian, Kankanaey, Ibanag and Agta groups were performed by the assigned Municipalities, induction of the set of officers of the Apayao Indigenous Peoples Youth Organization organized by the 17th Infantry Batallion and PLGU- Apayao, signing of the commitment of support and unity dance are among the parts of the program.
