Fagutao, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer, paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Rex Guzman Aquisan on Monday, May 25, 2026.

The visit marked the start of the team’s pre-assessment of Kabayan’s official entry for the Search for Best Tourism Village, with Babalak, Bashoy, and Ballay representing the municipality. This initiative underscores Kabayan’s commitment to showcasing its cultural heritage, natural attractions, and community-driven tourism practices on a national stage.

As part of the evaluation, the DOT-CAR team will also be conducting the documentation of Baley Mt. Timbac Accommodation for accreditation, ensuring that local facilities meet tourism standards and can provide quality service to visitors.

The Office of Mayor Aquisan warmly welcomed the delegation. The visit was facilitated with the assistance of Mr. Fernan A. Bangonan, Tourism Operations Officer I.

Kabayan, Benguet β€” On May 21, 2026, members of the Tuba Community Tour Guides Association visited the municipality of Kabayan for a benchmarking activity focused on enhancing their knowledge and skills in community tour guiding.

As part of their learning experience, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Office of Municipal Mayor Rex Alwin G. Aquisan and was warmly received by Ms. Jasmin T. Berting and Ms. Haydeeh A. Baldino, Private Secretaries, along with the Municipal Tourism, Culture, and the Arts Section. The group was accommodated by Mr. Fernan A. Bangonan, Tourism Operations Officer I, who facilitated their exposure to Kabayan’s tourism practices and destinations.

The activity included a guided learning tour from the lakes in Ballay towards Babalak, Bashoy, showcasing Kabayan’s rich natural and cultural heritage. Kabayan, Benguet – On May 20, 2026, representative of the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) visited the Office of the Municipal Mayor Rex Alwin G. Aquisan to discuss the proposed Data Sharing Agreement that will strengthen collaboration between the Commission and the Local Government Unit (LGU).

The courtesy visit was warmly accommodated by Ms. Jasmin T. Berting, Private Secretary I, along with Ms. Joy C. Porin of the Kabayan Mswdo. The meeting highlighted the importance of establishing a reliable and comprehensive database of senior citizens in the municipality, in line with the mandate of Republic Act No. 11350 which created the NCSC.

During the dialogue, NCSC representative emphasized that access to Kabayan’s senior citizens database will enable the Commission to expedite the delivery of benefits and services to qualified beneficiaries. The database includes essential information such as addresses, birthdays, family details, and health conditions, which are crucial for tailoring programs to the needs of older persons.

The validation covered Kabayan Central Integrated School (KCIS), Lebeng Elementary School, and Ballay Integrated School, where the DPWH team conducted site inspections and assessments to determine the feasibility and requirements for new classroom facilities.

On May 5, 2026, representatives from Benguet Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO)-LGU, visited Mayor Rex Guzman Aquisan for a courtesy meeting in line with the establishment of a Joint Technical Working Group (TWG). The TWG will spearhead the survey and assessment of four communal forests and community watersheds within the municipality of Kabayan.

The visit underscored the importance of collaborative governance in safeguarding Kabayan’s natural resources. By engaging both the LGU and PENRO through the joint TWG, the government's initiative aims to ensure accurate documentation, sustainable management, and participatory planning for the identified forest and watershed areas in Kabayan.

Kabayan, Benguet β€” Athletes of Kabayan who proudly represented Benguet Province in the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet 2026 last February made a courtesy visit to Mayor Rex Guzman Aquisan on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

The athletes were accompanied by their coach and Mr. Roberto A. Pablo, Jr., Kabayan Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS), underscoring the strong partnership between the and the education sector in supporting youth development through sports.

Also present during the visit were Vice Mayor Sario M. Minas and Honorable Sandy L. Wa-is, who joined in recognizing the athletes’ achievements and encouraging them to continue striving for excellence both in academics and athletics.

PSDS Roberto A. Pablo, Jr. expressed his gratitude to the LGU for the various forms of support extended, noting that such assistance has uplifted the athletes and encouraged them to excel in their respective fields.

On April 22, 2026, OIC Regional Director Dina C. Ponciano and her team from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – Cordillera Administrative Region (OWWA-CAR), paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Municipal Mayor Rex Alwin G. Aquisan. The visit was part of OWWA’s continuing efforts to strengthen collaboration with local government units in support of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families.

Director Ponciano and her team were warmly received by Ms. Justina C. Daniel, HRMO II and PESO Designate, together with Ms. Haydeeh A. Baldino, Private Secretary II.

The courtesy call served as a prelude to the upcoming OWWA Program Orientation cm Community Organizing scheduled on April 23, 2026. The orientation aims to provide comprehensive information on OWWA programs and services, strengthen community organizing efforts for OFWs and their families, and foster closer coordination between OWWA and the LGU.

The same event is expected to bring together OFW families, local officials, and community leaders to discuss initiatives that will further strengthen support systems for overseas workers.
