Three legislators from the Negros Island Region โ€” Rep. Julio Ledesma IV (Negros Occidentalโ€‘1st), Rep. Janice Degamo (Negros Orientalโ€‘3rd), and Rep. Emilio Bernardino Yulo (Negros Occidentalโ€‘5th) โ€” are among 98 House members commended for perfect attendance in all 39 plenary sessions of the First Regular Session of the 20th Congress (July 2025 โ€“ June 2026) under House Resolution No. 1394.

Filed August 25, the measure was introduced by Speaker Bojie Dy III, Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander Marcos, Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, and Deputy Minority Leader JC Abalos, who chairs the Committee on Ethics and Privileges.

Abalos noted this is the first time the House has collectively recognized all members with flawless attendance for an entire session.

FIRST SSS SPOKE HUB IN NIR OPENS AT SM CITY BACOLOD

The Social Security System (SSS) has opened its first Spoke Hub in the Negros Island Region at SM City, bringing selected SSS services closer to members, through the mallโ€™s Government Service Express (GSE).

An SSS Spoke Hub is a satellite service point designed to extend basic SSS services beyond regular branch offices, allowing members to attend to selected transactions closer to their communities.

Located on the third floor of the north wing, the SSS Satellite Services office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding weekends and holidays. It handles new member registration, records verification and updating, annual confirmation of pensioners, and related inquiries.

โ€œWe are pleased to partner with SM City in bringing SSS services closer to our members. There is a growing need to extend our service points, and having a Spoke Hub here gives members another place to address their SSS concerns in a convenient and comfortable setting,โ€ Atty. Alberto Montalbo, senior vice president for the Visayas Operating Group of SSS, said at the opening ceremony Aug. 27.

Montalbo said the expansion of satellite service points is timely as the SSS works to reach more members and make its services easier to access.

The new Spoke Hub adds to the range of services available at SMโ€™s GSE, where the public can also access NBI clearance services, key Bacolod City government transactions covering taxes, health permits, senior citizen, and PWD concerns, and business permits and licenses, as well as services from the DTI Negosyo Center, DOH Wellness Center, PhilSys for National ID processing, Philippine Postal Service, and the PNP Civil Security Group, among others.*
