💙 SOLO PARENTS GENERAL ASSEMBLY | February 18, 2026 💙

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWD) of the Local Government Unit of Jimenez successfully conducted the Solo Parents General Assembly on February 18, 2026, in partnership with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Misamis Occidental Chapter.

The activity gathered solo parents from different barangays of Jimenez to strengthen their awareness of their rights, available government programs, and support services under the Solo Parents Welfare Act. The assembly also served as a venue for fellowship, sharing of experiences, and empowerment among solo parents in the community.

A highlight of the activity was the Free Legal Aid provided by volunteer lawyers from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Misamis Occidental Chapter, where participants were given legal consultation and assistance, including the facilitation of free affidavits and guidance on legal concerns commonly faced by solo parents.

Through this collaborative effort, the Local Government Unit of Jimenez continues to affirm its commitment to promoting the welfare, protection, and empowerment of solo parents in the municipality.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Misamis Occidental Chapter for their valuable support and to all solo parents who actively participated in the activity.

Today, we successfully conducted the distribution of slippers to the children of Dicoloc Elementary School. This simple yet meaningful activity aims to support the comfort and needs of our learners as they continue their journey in school.

September is a National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month - A moment that serves us a powerful reminder that there are steps that we all must take.

It’s time to take one big step together.

By doing so, we must walk with others.

Walk and talk with us as we find ways in spreading awareness through the conduct of discussion on su***de prevention session initiated by the Jimenez National Comprehensive High School with the Office of the Social Welfare and Development last September 17, 2025.

Proverbs 22:6 "Train Up A Child In The Way He Should Go: And When He Is Old, He Will Not Depart From It."

Children representatives are the highlights of their active participation during the Comprehensive Development Plan for Children CY 2026-2028 with the efforts of the members of the Local Council for the Protection. They were able to share their insights with regards to the activities intended for the children ensuring that the 4 categories of their rights (Survival, Developmental, Protection and Participation) have addressed.

The success of the activity would not be possible without the full support of our LCPC Chair, the working Municipal Mayor Hon. Joselito "Jojo” Cajatol Chiong and all the Department Heads from the discussion to planning and workshop to the presentation of output.

Let us work hand in hand for the best interest of our Jimeneznon Children.

Special thanks to the resource persons coming from the Council for the Welfare of Children, DSWD FO 10. To Sir Beethoven Allena and Ma’am Rotchel Marie Muertigue who shared their knowledge and facilitated the LGU Jimenez in crafting the said plan.

Jimenez Persons with Disability Association joins the nation in Celebrating the National Disability Rights Week 2025.

Theme:”Innovation for Inclusion: Building Inclusive Communities Together”

We joyfully wrapped up a successful National Disability Rights Week Celebration, a meaningful and joy-filled event.

Highlights included an inspiring advocacy on physical therapy conducted by Ms. Shella Mae G. Lampasa, energetic singing and dancing presentations from 24 barangays, and a raffle draw for our Persons with Disability attendees.

A heartfelt thank you to all persons with disability who participated and our very supportive Municipal Mayor Hon. Joselito C. Chiong, MSWDO Kriz Haniegenn C. Pekit who helped make this event successful. Also to Kag. June Josephine Lou D. Paradero and Sir Kirby Cabañeros who make time to share message and celebrate with our Persons with Disability.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 10 and the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental with the Local Government Unit of Jimenez through Office of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development and Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs facilitated the 2nd quarter Social Pension Program payout conducted last June 17-19, 2025.

The activity was a success!
Thankful for the working team 1 and 2 who make it possible. To the team leaders and members, thank you for all your exerted efforts and skills in handling a smooth payout.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our Provincial Governor Atty. Henry S. Oaminal, through our Board Member Hon. Alejandro Guantero Jr. and to our Municipal Mayor Hon. Joselito "Jojo” Cajatol Chiong for their continued support to the programs and services to uplift the welfare of our elderly persons.
