Iloilo City โ Police operatives under the Regional Police Office 6 (PRO6) dealt another major blow to the illegal drug trade following the arrest of four high-value individuals (HVIs) and the confiscation of approximately 390 grams of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Iloilo City on October 2 and 3, 2025.
On October 2, 2025, at approximately 8:44 PM, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 arrested alias โKeth,โ a 27-year-old single resident of Barangay Rizal, Pala-Pala Zone I, Iloilo City.
Seized from him were 12 sachets and five (5) knot-tied plastic bags of suspected shabu weighing approximately 220 grams, buy-bust money, a cellular phone, two improvised glass tooters, PHP600.00 in proceeds, and other non-drug items.
Just hours later, on October 3, 2025, at around 12:50 AM, another buy-bust was conducted in Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo, Iloilo City, leading to the arrest of three more HVIs identified as alias โJer,โ 22, single; alias โAlan,โ 20, single, student; and alias โKarโ, 18, single, student. All are residents of the said barangay.
The suspects conspired to sell one sachet of suspected shabu worth PHP12,000.00 to a poseur-buyer.
Recovered from them were one (1) sachet as a buy-bust item, seven (7) more sachets of suspected shabu, PHP12,000 buy-bust money, one android phone, and other non-drug items. The confiscated drugs weighed about 170 grams.
The two operations were carried out by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU 6) with support from Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 6, ICPS 7, Regional Intelligence Division 6, and PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 6 following a month-long intelligence monitoring and surveillance that confirmed the illegal activities of the suspects.
Police Regional Office 6 Regional Director PBGEN JOSEFINO D LIGAN lauded the successful operations and commended the operatives for their relentless efforts.
โThese back-to-back operations demonstrate our unwavering commitment to rid Western Visayas of illegal drugs. The arrest of these high-value targets is a clear warning to drug personalities that there is no safe place for them here. We will continue to strengthen our operations and partnerships with the community to ensure a safer and drug-free region,โ said PBGEN LIGAN.
Arrested persons are under police custody and will face charges for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 26 (Conspiracy) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). Sections 5 and 11 carry the penalty of life imprisonment and fines ranging from PHP 500,000 to PHP 10,000,000.
