Empowering Communities Through Livelihood and Financial Literacy

The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development (OCSWD), headed by Ms. Maridel C. Verrosa, RSW, CSWD Officer, in partnership with Personal Collection (PC) and the Local Government Unit of Iriga City, conducted a Free Livelihood Program and Financial Literacy Training for disadvantaged groups in the community.

A total of 120 participants composed of Solo Parents, KALIPI members, 4Ps beneficiaries, and youth took part in the activity, aimed at providing livelihood opportunities and strengthening their knowledge and skills in financial management and financial literacy, particularly among women and families with limited income.

Adding value to the activity, the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) – Iriga Branch also conducted a short orientation, encouraging Irigueño families to consider opening a savings account as a practical step toward building financial security and a better future.

Together, we continue to empower families, create opportunities, and build financially resilient communities. 💜

PYAP Orientation for 3K Walang Gutom Beneficiaries

As part of the ongoing orientation for the 3K Sessions Walang Gutom beneficiaries held on August 12–13, 2026 at various locations in Iriga City, Ms. Lieszl A. Viscaya, PYAP Focal Person, discussed the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Program, its objectives, and the opportunities it offers to young people.

She also encouraged parents and guardians with youth in their families to consider having them become members of PYAP, where they can participate in activities and programs that promote youth development, leadership, and active involvement in the community.

The activity is part of the continuing efforts of the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development (OCSWD) to connect families and young people to programs and services that support their growth and well-being.

OCSWD MOVE FOR WELLNESS: Zumba for a Healthier Workplace! 💃🕺

The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development (OCSWD),headed by Ms. Maridel C. Verrosa, RSW, through its Administrative Division, conducted a 45-minute Zumba session for OCSWD staff today as part of the office’s efforts to promote a healthier, happier, and more active workplace.

The activity provided everyone with an opportunity to move, sweat, enjoy, and bond while promoting physical wellness and stress relief. 💪✨

The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development (OCSWD) participated in the Orientation on the Accreditation of Senior Citizen Center held today, August 12, 2026.

Representing the OCSWD was Ms. Lea B. Vargas, Social Welfare Assistant (SWA) and Senior Citizens Focal Person, who attended the webinar to gain knowledge and updates on the accreditation process and standards for Senior Citizen Centers.

CSWD 𝗝𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝟭𝗦𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗔 𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗘Ñ𝗔𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗔

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), headed by Ms. Maridel C. Verrosa, RSW, actively participated in the LGU 1st Friday Mass held on August 7, 2026, at the Iriga City Sports Center, Sta. Cruz Sur, Iriga City.

Following the Holy Mass, the gathering continued with a Novena Prayer in honor of Inang Peñafrancia, as part of the community’s spiritual preparation and devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia.

The Office of the City Social Welfare and Development (OCSWD) was also one of the sponsors of the novena, reflecting its continued support for activities that promote faith, unity, and community fellowship among Irigueños.

May this celebration strengthen our faith, deepen our sense of service, and inspire us to continue working together for a compassionate and united Iriga City.
