Oplan Kaluluwa 2026: Fireflix | 30 October 2026

The Indanan Municipal Fire Station, headed by Fire Marshal SFO4 Alwisa P Asjada, successfully conducted an educational campaign at Tanjung Elementary School in line with Oplan Kaluluwa 2026. Under the theme "FIREFLIX: Enjoy the Movie, Learn Fire Safety!", the activity effectively combined learning and entertainment to teach young students vital emergency preparedness and fire prevention tips.

To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, the program was structured into three distinct stations. Station 1 focused on an EMS (Emergency Medical Services) lecture to teach basic first aid and emergency response skills. Station 2 provided an interactive Fire Safety lecture covering essential rules such as avoiding matches, knowing two ways out, staying away from fire, and remembering "Don't Hide. Get Out. Stay Out."

Finally, Station 3 featured a fun film viewing session for the students, pairing movies with chocolate and candies to reinforce safety concepts in an engaging way. Through this station-based approach, the Indanan Municipal Fire Station successfully empowered the pupils of Tanjung Elementary School to actively practice safety and Be a Fire Safety Hero!

Safe School Initiative: Public Fire Education, School Emergency Response Plan and Team

The Indanan Municipal Fire Station under the leadership of SFO4 Alwisa P Asjada, conducted the Safe School Initiative under the Ligtas na Pamayanan Program. The activity covered Public Fire Education, School Emergency Response Plan briefing and organization of School Emergency Response Team for faculty.

The session discussed fire prevention, causes of fire and emergency evacuation procedures including routes and assembly areas. A practical demonstration on basic fire suppression was conducted for better understanding of participants.

A School Emergency Response Team was organized from selected teachers and staff and briefed on their duties as first responders. The activity concluded successfully with active participation. Coordination with the school will continue for future fire drills and safety inspections.

OLP - Bumbero Tourist Safety Officer (BTSO) and Social, Environmental and Humanitarian Support Activity (SEHSA) | October 24, 2026

The Indanan Municipal Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO4 Alwisa P Asjada, provided medical personnel and ambulance support during the DepEd Indanan Municipal Meet 2026 held on October 23-25, 2026, in response to the request letter from DepEd-Indanan District.

Alongside ensuring the safety and immediate medical assistance for athletes and participants, our personnel also conducted fire safety awareness through the distribution of fire safety flyers to visitors, athletes, and guests present during the event.

This initiative aims to promote fire prevention awareness while ensuring a safe and successful conduct of the Municipal Meet.

OLP - Fire Square Challenge | 23 October 2026

The Indanan Municipal Fire Station, headed by SFO4 Alwisa P Asjada, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted the Oplan Ligtas na Pamayanan (OLP) - Fire Square Challenge on 23 October 2026 for the students of Sulu College of Technology (SCT) at Indanan Municipal Fire Station.

The activity aimed to promote public awareness on fire safety, disaster preparedness, and the mandates of the Bureau of Fire Protection. It featured a static display and demonstration of firefighting equipment, tools, and apparatus, including fire hoses, nozzles, SCBA, rescue tools, personal protective equipment, and fire truck operations, allowing students to observe and interact with the equipment firsthand.

Fire officers also conducted brief orientations on the BFP's roles and responsibilities, fire prevention measures, emergency response procedures, and proper reporting of fire incidents. The activity successfully enhanced the students' knowledge and appreciation of the fire service's vital role in community safety.

OLP - Emergency Response Plan for Business Establishment (ERPB) and Talakayan at Damayang Pangkabuhayan | 22 October 2026

The Indanan Municipal Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO4 Alwisa P Asjada, conducted an Emergency Response Plan for Business Establishments (ERPB) and Talakayan at Damayang Pangkabuhayan for twenty (20) business establishments in Barangay Kajatian, Indanan, Sulu.

The activity aimed to strengthen the preparedness of business owners and employees in responding to fire incidents and other emergencies. During the briefing, participants were oriented on emergency response procedures, evacuation planning, fire safety practices, and the importance of maintaining emergency preparedness measures in their establishments. The activity also provided an opportunity for participants to raise concerns and clarify emergency response protocols.

The activity was successfully carried out, contributing to improved public safety awareness and emergency preparedness among business establishments in the locality.

Charging your phone on a table or overnight is a common habit, but it can be a fire hazard if not done properly.

To prevent electrical fire caused by mobile phone charging:

1. DO NOT overcharge - Unplug once fully charged. Avoid charging overnight while sleeping.

2. Check your cable and outlet - If it feels hot, loose, or has frayed wires, replace it immediately.

3. Place on a non-flammable surface - Do not charge on beds, sofas, or near curtains.

4. Unplug when not in use - Unplug chargers from the outlet when not charging.
