Notice the old spellings of certain places or towns:
°Inabangan - established 1722, in reference to a river infested with crocodiles
°Malabohoc - later became a pueblo in 1834
°Talibong - established as an independent municipality from Inabanga in 1830
°Hagna - home of the famous "kalamay" or "calamay," simultaneously founded as a town and parish 1631
°Davis - 'u' and 'v' were spelled the same in the past; established 1697
°Loboc - established 1597, meaning a deep portion of a river where people go to hide, especially from pirate attacks
°Canliron - old name for Candijay, derived from "Kang Dihay" which means belonging to Dihay, a strong man with many followers
°Yraya - ??
