On April 30, 2026, the 8th Infantry Battalion under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Jeorge R Jallorina, Commanding Officer successfully facilitated the conduct of psychosocial support and stress debriefing sessions for five Former Rebels under its supervision. The activity was led by the Mental Health and Resilience Center of Camp Evangelista Station Hospital, 4th Infantry Division, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City. The undertaking formed part of the continuing efforts to assist former rebels in their transition toward peaceful, stable, and productive civilian lives.
The activity aimed to address the emotional, psychological, and mental health needs of the participants as they continue their journey toward reintegration into mainstream society. Through guided counseling, stress management interventions, and psychosocial processing sessions, the former rebels were provided a safe environment where they could openly share experiences, release emotional burdens, and develop healthier coping mechanisms.
The 8th Infantry Battalion remains steadfast in sustaining programs that promote healing, reconciliation, and long-term peace within its area of responsibility. Through close coordination with partner agencies, mental health professionals, and other stakeholders, the unit continues to advance initiatives that transform lives, empower communities, and contribute to lasting peace and development.
