Two Iloilo busts drive ₱1.82M shabu haul, 7 arrested

Mia Magdalena Fokno | September 6, 2026

Two buy-bust operations in Iloilo accounted for most of the suspected shabu seized by police across Western Visayas in 24 hours, as the Police Regional Office 6 reported seven arrests and a ₱1.82 million drug haul.

From 6 a.m. Sept. 5 to 5:59 a.m. Sept. 6, police recovered about 268 grams of suspected shabu in operations in Iloilo province and Iloilo City.

The biggest haul came from San Miguel, Iloilo, where the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 arrested a person classified by police as a high-value individual and seized about 170 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱1.156 million.

In Pavia, Iloilo, another buy-bust led to the arrest of a second high-value individual and the recovery of about 75 grams worth ₱510,000.

Together, the two operations accounted for about 245 grams, or more than 90% of the total suspected shabu recovered during the reporting period.

PRO6 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Randulf T. Tuaño said police would continue targeting people involved in the illegal drug trade while keeping operations within legal and procedural limits.

“We will continue to focus our efforts on individuals who are involved in the illegal drug trade while making sure that our operations are carried out properly and within the bounds of the law,” Tuaño said.

He also urged residents to report suspected drug activity through proper channels, saying community information can help prevent illegal drugs from reaching neighborhoods.

The seized substances remain subject to laboratory examination. Those arrested are entitled to due process and are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Two top wanted suspects in r**e cases among 10 nabbed across Western Visayas

Mia Magdalena Fokno | September 6, 2026

Two of the 10 wanted persons arrested across Western Visayas in 24 hours were high-ranking police targets facing r**e-related charges, putting the latest PRO6 warrant sweep on priority cases rather than sheer arrest numbers.

The Police Regional Office 6 said the arrests were made from 6 a.m. Sept. 5 to 5:59 a.m. Sept. 6 through the service of standing warrants and follow-up operations.

In Anilao, Iloilo, police arrested the No. 6 Regional-Level Most Wanted Person, who is facing four counts of qualified r**e.

In Santa Barbara, Iloilo, authorities apprehended the No. 1 Municipal-Level Most Wanted Person in connection with a statutory r**e case.

Eight other wanted persons were arrested in separate operations across the region.

PRO6 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Randulf T. Tuaño said the focus remains on locating wanted persons through lawful police work and bringing them before the proper courts.

“Our police units remain committed to finding wanted persons through proper and lawful means,” Tuaño said.

“We also value the cooperation of the public, whose timely and responsible information can help us locate individuals with standing warrants.”

He urged wanted persons to face their cases through proper legal channels and reminded the public not to confront people believed to be wanted.

Those arrested remain entitled to due process and are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

81 guns seized in 24 hours as Tuaño pairs crackdown with compliance push

Mia Magdalena Fokno | September 6, 2026

Police confiscated 81 fi****ms across Western Visayas in 24 hours, but the regional campaign is increasingly being framed not only around seizures, but around getting gun owners to fix documentation problems before they turn into criminal cases.

Police Regional Office 6 said the fi****ms were confiscated in operations conducted from 6 a.m. Sept. 5 to 5:59 a.m. Sept. 6 as part of its continuing campaign against loose and undocumented guns.

The drive is backed by Project RTT, or Restrict, Track, and Turn-in, which aims to identify loose fi****ms, trace guns with deficient records, and encourage owners to surrender or otherwise bring them into lawful disposition.

PRO6 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Randulf T. Tuaño said enforcement remains part of the campaign, but compliance is another route available to fi***rm owners.

“Keeping fi****ms properly accounted for is a shared responsibility,” Tuaño said.

“We encourage fi***rm owners to do their part by ensuring that their fi****ms are properly registered and documented. For those who need guidance, our police units are ready to help them take the right steps.”

The latest PRO6 release did not provide a breakdown of the 81 fi****ms by province, type, ownership status, or the circumstances in which each was confiscated.

That distinction is important in a campaign that has previously counted fi****ms under several different dispositions, including confiscation, surrender, recovery, deposit, and turnover.

Tuaño also urged residents with information about illegally or improperly possessed fi****ms to report through official police channels rather than confront the holders themselves.

The latest haul adds to PRO6’s broader fi***rm-accountability drive, which has combined police operations with voluntary surrender and documentation efforts under Project RTT.
