Joint Committee Meeting of the Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (ICDRRMC) and Its Working Committees August 10, 2026 | Iloilo City Hall

The Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (ICDRRMC) and its working committees convened today for a Joint Committee Meeting to strengthen the city’s collective approach to climate and disaster resilience. Members reviewed global, national, and local frameworks, ensuring a shared baseline of understanding across all committees.

The meeting produced consensus on priority initiatives and adopted strategies to guide implementation, including: integration of activities into Barangay Development Plans and DRRM structures; facilitation of the UNRISK Module across city offices; consolidation of thematic activities per geographic area; inclusion of KABALAKA Volunteers and other groups in resilience efforts; establishment of data needs to address gaps; and development of protocols and policies for land acquisition and response operations.

To ensure clarity and alignment, participants agreed to hold committee-level meetings in the coming days to polish and tighten the agreed initiatives. This step will further refine the city’s strategic directions and ensure readiness for implementation.

The ICDRRMC reaffirmed its commitment to proactive, collaborative climate and disaster resilience, underscoring Iloilo City’s dedication to safeguarding communities and sustaining development gains.

Paagi sa Office of the City Agriculturist, ginbaton ni Kgwd. Rosemarie Berico sang Brgy. Balabago, Jaro kag Brgy. Capt. Analyn Padilla sang Cubay,Jaro and mga donasyon nga utan para sa community kitchen sang barangay.

Sa pagbulig sang Iloilo City Government, ginpaabot ni Mayor Raisa Treñas ang financial assistance sa mga pamilya nga naapektuhan sang Habagat nga gin-intensify sang Typhoon ‘DOLPHIN’.

Base sa report sang Iloilo City Emergency Operations Center kag City Social Welfare and Development Office, may 4 ka panimalay nga totally damaged kag 97 ka panimalay nga partially damaged.

Ang ini nga mga pamilya ang gikan sa Brgy. Balabago, Cubay, Benedicto, Desamparados, Seminario, Calubihan, CC El-98, kag Tabuc Suba sa Jaro; Brgy. Gustillo sa La Paz; kag Brgy. Q. Abeto, Oñate de Leon kag Taft North sa Mandurriao, nga may 148 ka pamilya kag 587 ka indibidwal.

Ang totally damaged nga panimalay nakabaton sang ayuda nga P10,000 samtang ang partially damaged nakabaton sang P5,000 para sa materyales sa pag-rebuild sang ila balay kag sa ila basic needs.

RE: Effects of Possible Buhawi
As of 7:00 PM, August 9, 2026

As of August 9, 2026, at 3:00 PM, a total of 72 damaged houses/structures were initially assessed in connection with the damages caused by the possible tornado (“buhawi”).

The Iloilo City Emergency Operations Center recorded evacuations across 12 affected barangays with a total of 144 affected families and five hundred sixty-eight individuals.

As of 1:00 PM, a total of 12 incidents involving snapped trunks, uprooted trees, and fallen posts, attributed to the effects of strong winds, have been recorded in Iloilo City.

UPDATE AS OF 3:00 PM | AUGUST 9, 2026

As of 3:00 PM, may ara na kita sang 144 ka pamilya, nga may kabug-usan nga 568 ka individuals nga na-record kag na-validate. Ang iban sa ila yara sa designated evacuation centers, samtang ang iban naman temporaryo nga nagapabilin sa ila mga himata.

Naka-record man kita sang 74 ka partially damaged houses kag 3 ka totally damaged houses.

Samtang nagapadayon ang aton response, ang mga CSWDO District Offices padayon sa revalidation sang mga apektado nga pamilya kag pag-accommodate sang mga IDPs, agud masiguro nga ang ila mga kinahanglanon kag concerns mahatagan sang husto kag gilayon nga sabat.

Nag-request man ang Iloilo City Government sa DSWD Region VI sang dugang nga food kag non-food provisions para sa mga apektado nga pamilya kag individuals.
