Also present were the officials of Barangay Veterans Village led by Kap Celia Campo together with their Barangay Kagawads; Kap Ma Rosario Sabando of Barangay San Agustin; and Ms. Marieliz M Silvederio representative of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) – City Proper District.

This shared meal became a fitting closing to the event—one that bridged roles and boundaries, strengthened partnerships, and reinforced that unity, cooperation, and care for the youth bring us all closer together.

In a fun‑filled display of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and community connection, Iloilo City Police Station 1 successfully conducted the “TROPANG UNO BATANG PANDILLA” FRIENDLY BASKETBALL GAME—an activity designed to engage the youth, foster positive relationships, and strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community.

This friendly match brought together two spirited youth teams: the Wayang Boys of Barangay Veterans Village and the DOCE GANG Midget of Barangay Zamora‑Melliza. Beyond just the game itself, this gathering turned the basketball court into a space for healthy competition, mutual respect, and friendship—showcasing the talent, energy, and unity of our young residents. Through activities like this, we encourage the youth to channel their skills and enthusiasm toward positive endeavors, while building trust and understanding between the police and the people we serve. Truly, every play and every cheer reflected our full support for the development and well‑being of our youth!

ILOILO CITY POLICE STATION 1 – “TROPANG UNO BATANG PANDILLA”
Basketball Friendly Game

This friendly basketball match is organized by Iloilo City Police Station 1 under the banner of “Tropang Uno Batang Pandilla”—an activity designed to bring law enforcement and the community closer together through sports, camaraderie, and healthy competition.

The participating teams and players are composed of young representatives from Barangay Zamora‑Melliza and Barangay Veterans Village, giving the youth of both areas a meaningful avenue to showcase their skills, build sportsmanship, and strengthen neighborhood ties.

Representing Barangay Zamora‑Melliza is the team DOCE GANG Midget, led/headed by SK Kagawad Jay Dianon Bagares. Also with a strong support from our Barangay officials kagawad Yuri Villanueva , Kagawad Lilianne Espinosa Sorioso , Kagawad Michael Evan Solo and our Punong Barangay Lloyd John Abadiano.

Through this activity, Iloilo City Police Station 1 continues to promote peace, unity, and positive youth development—turning the basketball court into a space for friendship, respect, and shared community spirit.

It is of utmost importance that peace and order are consistently, properly monitored and actively maintained throughout our Barangay. A safe, orderly, and peaceful environment serves as the very foundation of our community’s well‑being—it protects every family, secures our homes and properties, allows our children to grow without fear, and creates the ideal conditions for progress, harmony, and prosperity to flourish.

However, this vital goal cannot be achieved by one group alone. Strong, constant coordination and close partnership between our barangay officials and our law enforcement agencies are absolutely essential. Working hand‑in‑hand—with our officials and tanods providing vital on‑the‑ground knowledge, vigilance, and immediate presence, while our police partners bring expertise, authority, and professional support—we can respond faster to concerns, prevent trouble before it escalates, and effectively address any challenges to safety. This teamwork turns individual efforts into a powerful force, ensuring that peace reigns and our barangay remains a safe haven for all residents.
